Reem: Yeh kya hai, papa kabhi nahi peete hai. Mummy kaha hai? Mujhse kya chupa rahe hai? ( What is this, dad never drinks. Where is mom? What are they hiding from me?)
She called her mother, but she didn't answer. Reem took her extra sim, whose number her mother didn't have and called her again, and felt like crying when she picked it up.
RM: Hello.
Reem: Aapne mera phone kyu nahi uthaya? ( Why didn't you pick my call?)
RM: Woh woh actually um. Mujhe bahut kaam hai, baadme baat karti hu. ( Woh woh actually um. I am busy right now, will talk later.)
And she hung up the call, not even asking her why she called. Just then she heard knocking and opened her door to see her father.
Reem: Papa, kuch chahiye tha? ( Papa, you wanted something?)
RF: Nahi, tujhe kuch kaam tha? Tu aayi thi na thodi der pehle. ( No, you needed something? You had come sometime back.)
Reem: Mummy nahi hai ghar par, isliye. Aapne khana kha liya tha? ( Mom isn't at home, that's why. You had your dinner?)
RF: Ha. Tu ro kyu rahi hai? ( Yes. Why are you crying?)
He asked, wiping her tears.
Reem: Kuch bhi nahi. Mummy kaha hai? ( Nothing. Where is mom?)
RF: Pata nahi, batakar nahi gayi thi. Tu jakar soja. ( I don't know, she didn't say. You sleep.)
Reem nodded and he went from there after kissing her forehead. She sat on the bed holding her head. After sometime her mother came home and Reem went to her room.
Reem: Mummy, kya chal raha hai aapke aur papa ke beech? ( Mom what is going on between you and dad?)
RM: Kuch bhi nahi. Tu jakar soja, late ho gaya hai. ( Nothing. You go and sleep, it's late.)
Reem: Kab tak mera sawal ignore karoge? 4 mahino se ye sab chal raha hai, aur na aap log apna jhagda suljha rahe ho, na mujhe kuch bata rahe ho. Jhagda bas badhta ja raha hai. ( Till when will you ignore my questions? Since 4 months all this is going on, neither you both are solving it nor telling me anything. The fight is just increasing.)
RM: Maine bola na kuch nahi hai, ja. ( I said right it's nothing, go.)
Reem: Nahi.
RM: Reem, mujhe attitude dikhane ki zarurat nahi hai. Apna attitude badal. Warna apne baap ke jaisi ho jayegi. ( Reem, don't show me that attitude of yours. Change your attitude. Otherwise you'll end up like your father.)
Reem: Kya bol rahe ho aap? ( What are you saying?)
RM: Kuch nahi, bas attitude badalne bol rahi hu. ( Nothing, just to change your attitude.)
