Hey everyone, I'm sorry if the last chapter made anyone feel depressed or cry. Wasn't my intention (even tho I ended up being sad all day today cause of  it!) So I wrote this chapter quickly so we could all keep it pushin' with the story

I sat fiddling with the blood-oxygen monitor on my finger as Ms Sheila brought over the glass of water.

"Where's my mother?" I asked her as I refused the water.

"She went to the chapel. Wanted to pray for yall. Told her I'd stay hea with you in the mean time,"  she said solemnly.

"And August?" I asked, now realising I hadn't seen him since I woke up

Ms Sheila looked like she was in pain to say what she was going to.
" August left. We don't know where he went to"

I looked away and nodded in understanding.

At that my mother came into my room, running to me and hugging me. Her hug made me have to hold back my tears, as she kissed the top of my head and smoothed over my hair

"Imma give yall some privacy," August's mother said as she stood up to leave.

"Everyone is still outside, worried about you. They never left" my mother spoke up

"Ms Sheila told me August walked out," I said

She nodded, " yeah. It was hard on him too. But he did call someone down here to explain everything to you"

I frowned slightly wondering who. There was a knock on the door as Michael (Dr Young) stepped inside.

He gave me a small smile before placing his clipboard down and sitting on the edge of the bed.

"You're back from your trip already?" I asked him

"Yeah. August contacted me while you were in surgery. He wanted to let me know what was going on since I'm your obgyn and a friend"
Michael explained

"I came as soon as he told me."

I nodded.
"Do you know why this happened?" I asked trying to make sense of the situation

He sighed, "Placental Abruption is a sudden condition, no one knows why it happens. It is riskier with multiples.....I should have monitored you for longer," he said as he shook his head in guilt

"No no, Michael this wasn't your fault. You said it yourself, no one knows why it happens" I said to him

"I know the situation is hard, but you mustn't forget you still have another baby that you need to be strong for." He continued

I looked down as I remembered my Brie. He was right, I had to try my best so she could come home with me healthy when the time came

"So she's fine? None of this affected her?" I questioned

"No. Dr Hunter who was your surgeon said she's perfect. And he didn't see any reason to deliver her prematurely to endanger her development....she's strong just like her mother" he added with a little smile

"Thanks for coming Michael," I told him as he stood up and gave me  a little hug.

"I'll leave you alone so you could rest up," he said as my mother smiled at him.

"You must be tired honey, how about you try taking a nap?" My mother suggested

I lay back trying to get comfortable but I kept wondering, where was August?
