"Hellooooo" I said as I made my way through da foyer. I had gotten back from da city but Mikaela was nowhere to be seen.

"Oh hey August," she said popping her head out from the glass doors on the deck.

"I was in the jacuzzi, I read online that the warm water helps with relaxing " she said fixing her robe over her.

I looked her once over.

"What?" She asked lettin down her hair from da bun it was in.

"Nothin'" I smiled

"Really what?" She asked again

"It's nothin...but anyone ever told ya you got that pregnancy glow people always talk about?" I said grabbing an apple from the fruit tray.

She furrowed her eyebrows in disbelief, "really?"

"Yea...befo' I ain't even believed in that shit. All da pregnant women I ever seen got big ass noses, and swelled up feet" I shrugged, " but you look real gorgeous these last couple a weeks"

She gave me a smile, " Well thank you. My skin does look healthier to be honest" she said pinchin her cheeks, causing me to laugh.

"You had anything to eat yet?" I asked her as I took a bite from ma apple.

"No, was thinking of ordering some Jamaican food actually" she said toweling her face dry.

"Well dont, I wanted to take you to meet some people....got food waiting for us and errything"

"What people?" She asked walking to the counter and grabbing da bottle of water she must've left there earlier.

"Ma nieces and they mama," I smiled thinking about how excited da girls would be to see me.

"Oh ok cool. Do they leave far? Cause I'm hungry so could grab a snack for the drive," she said to me

I shook ma head, "naww...in fact" I said strolling over to the window, " they leave right over thea' "

She came over an squinted at the house next door that I was pointing on.

"Your nieces live across the street?" She asked with a smile

"Yea...I wanted em to be close by" I replied.

"That's really sweet of you August," she said looking up at me from beside me at the window.

"I am a nice nigga ya know," I gloated

She rolled her eyes, "Let me get dressed so we can go"

August and I went over to his nieces home about 20 minutes later.

"Hello? Don't nobody live here no more?!" He shouted as he eased the front door open

"Yes we do!" A little voice floated back to us.

He chuckled to himself, "come on" he said as he shut the door behind us.

We walked into the living room to see 3 young girls racing down the stairs towards us.

"Uncle Aug!" They all chanted as they ran into him and embraced him

"How uncle babies doin? Yall been behaving? " he asked as he hugged and placed kisses on each of their cheeks. They nodded in reply to his questions.

"I want yall to meet someone. Remember I told yall bout ya future cousins?" He asked them as he stooped down to their level

"Uh huh," they nodded and replied.
