[Y/n POV]
"Master gave orders not to leave the hideout-"
"Shut up, Aless."
Y/n was in the middle of gathering their belongings. They mainly consisted of food, first aid and their elemental liquids; all the things they'd need in battle.
You've always thought of me as someone incompetent.
Someone stupid enough to get deceived by you, at each turn.
What did everything you promised me even mean?
Was it another form of deception, perhaps?
It didn't matter it was. Y/n had decided to go fight alongside the Resistance. Despite whatever Scaramouche had intended to make happen, the bonds they formed at the training grounds were real. The people of Inazuma and Y/n's adoration for them was real.
This was their decision, and Scaramouche's so-called 'plan' was not going to stop them from leading the Resistance to a victory.
Three Fatui agents disguised as the Shogunate...
Y/n recalled the times when they had to fight against the Fatui. Most of those times, they had managed to fend them off. With the regular training at the Resistance camp, they could only have improved at it. Besides, they still had the elemental liquids to support them, and an Anemo vision.
Even if it hurt to think of him that way, right now Scaramouche meant to them what the Tsaritsa did; just another person who Y/n was meant to prove their ability to, and somehow still hadn't accomplished it.
They would've spent more time pondering how to do just that. That was, if they hadn't known that Scaramouche had already made his decision.
But even without you, I've come far. So I won't falter here.
With everything they needed in place, they finally pulled out the ktisis from their clothing. Before the cold could take over them, they placed a pyro illusion in its place with their vacant hand. It wasn't as strong as the ktisis at keeping the cold away, but still nullified it to some extent.
Y/n gave the ktisis one last look. The different hues that swirled within it still looked as radiant as ever. They were radiant the way their harbinger was.
When they were near it, the world felt warmer. The comfort seemed too great to give up on. Y/n admired it, and never once questioned it.
They silently placed the ktisis along with a note on the table in their room- or rather, the room Scaramouche had given them.
Since this object is so important to you, I'll leave it behind.
So, even if I am to falter today, you won't come looking for me again.

The Resistance camp was bustling with soldiers. Each platoon called upon its members, and the noise of different names being shouted and cross-checked on each of the lists made the perfect commotion for Y/n to sneak into their own platoon.
"Oh, Y/n! We were wondering if you'd miss the battle." Junkichi waved at them.
Y/n waved back, flashing him the smallest attempt at a smile. "Of course. You think I'd just leave you guys?"
