Chapter 77

Tris's POV: 

"Mommy, you have a big tummy," Parker says and Tobias laughs. 

"I am aware of my fairly ginormous abdomen." 

"Huh?" 

I smile. 

"You know how you and Crystal are brother and sister?" I ask. 

Parker nods. 

"Well, you are going to have to more little siblings." 

Parker frowns. "No." 

"No?" I ask. 

Parker nods. "No." 

"Why not?" Tobias asks picking Parker up. 

"Because I like our family just the way it is. The babies can find another family." 

"No, they can't," I say. 

"Tris. Calm down," Tobias says. "Parker, they are your family too." 

Parker pouts and start crying. "I don't want anyone else. No, no, no!" 

"PARKER JAMES EATON!" I yell. 

He silences himself and starts crying louder. 

"Tris," Tobias says. 

Parker scream and Tobias begins talking to me but I can't hear over Parker's crying. 

Then I hear glass shatter. 

Parker stops crying and everything is silent until we hear footsteps. 

Tobias picks Parker up and takes my hand. 

He takes us to the basement. 

"I want you two to stay here," he says. "Don't come up. No matter what. Understand?" 

Parker nods but I don't know. 

"Tris." 

"Fine," I say. 

He kisses Parker's forhead and then kisses me. 

He walks back up the stairs and closes the door. 

I hear footsteps that belong to many people. 

I hear shouts. 

I rush up the stairs and try to open the door but it's locked. 

Tobias, you know, oh-so well... 

Then they are gone, everyone, everything.
