The following week went by so fast that neither Jihyuk nor Jieun could barely blink. They had started getting used to the new dynamic of the changes in their lives; with Sangin being back. Sangin went back to being her bodyguard, that is, assisting her to her schedule during the day, while Jihyuk stayed at the agency to write reports and helped his colleagues with their cases. In the evening, he would go back to Jieun and assist her. It seemed like Sangin was her bodyguard by day and Jihyuk took his place by night. Jieun was a bit saddened by the fact that she didn't get to see Jihyuk as often as before; they would both come back home separately, and they would be so tired and would go to sleep almost immediately. Hence, they hadn't had a proper one-on-one conversation, save for smiles and greetings. Of course, she was glad that Sangin was back, but she couldn't help but think that her relationship with the young bodyguard, whatever it was, was slipping away. She shook the thought away. She was being ridiculous. He was still here, he was still working with her. That part hadn't changed. And she was sure she was the only one thinking like this.

Her conversation with Taehyun also left her in confusion. She wasn't sure how she felt towards the handsome bodyguard. She didn't know whether she interpreted her protectiveness of him into something more, or if it is that what she felt towards the young man was more than what a colleague, or even a friend, should feel.

Speaking of Taehyun, he hadn't come to the shoot for the past 4 days, and the director and production crew had continued the shoot as if he wasn't missing. Jieun refrained from trying to contact him; after all, she was the one that hurt him. She had asked Seojoon about how he's been doing, and Seojoon recalled his last conversation with the male to her. "He said that he needs to take some time off. Off what, I don't know." Jieun nodded alongside Seo Joon, but deep down she knew why he wasn't coming to set. He was avoiding her, and the guilt that she felt ever since Taehyun ran out of the coffee shop that day has been eating her up every time she noticed his absence.

All the thinking brought a sharp pain across her forehead. She massaged her temples in frustration and sighed. She was lying in bed, having woken up 30 minutes ago. She really needs to go wash up and get ready for the day, even if she has no schedule. She might as well try to do something productive in the apartment. Seeing that Jihyuk was not there, he might have gone to his agency to get some work done. Jieun sighed. She was looking forward to catching up with him. What she needs is someone to talk to; someone she can confide in and seek comfort with.

Jihyuk seemed to be the only person she could think of.

Jihyuk hummed to the slow melody of the song as he flipped the bacon on the pan, careful not to spray the oil everywhere. He switched the volume of his phone to low as he was wearing earbuds so that I could hear the sound of the toaster beeping. He was cooking up a small breakfast; eggs on toast, bacon on the side, and a glass of orange juice for both of them. He continued humming on the music as he put the cooked bacon onto two plates. He cleaned the pan after he's done, still humming to the song that was playing in his earbuds. He didn't notice the sound of Jieun's bedroom door opening.

Jieun was startled to see him bustling through the kitchen like it was a normal day for them. Usually, he always went to work before her and they rarely had breakfast together nowadays, and seeing him now cooking breakfast brought a warm sensation to her heart. He was wearing a dress shirt underneath an apron. He really looked like a husband cooking breakfast for his wife before going to work. Jieun was shocked by her own thoughts. Why am I thinking about him like this? She had no time to answer that question when she heard him hum softly to something. She got closer, and couldn't help but let out a smile as she realized what she was listening to. It was one of her cover songs, "Every day with you".
