"Do I sound like I care?" Came his reply. She wasn't expecting something other than that thou. She sent him the message just to let him know incase something happens. She sent him a text telling him that she's traveling to Kaduna

"We are here" The driver said cutting her train of thoughts. She thanked him and hopped out moving into her In-laws house. She knocked the door and unfortunately her Mother in-law opened. She greeted her but of course she didn't reply instead she shot her a glare "What do you want"

"Mama at least usher me in" Maryam wanted to side step her and enter but she knew it wasn't right. To her utmost surprise the woman moved from the door letting Maryam in. Maryam internally shrugged and went in. On her way, she bumped into one of those ladies that tried messing with her that day. Mama's niece. Maryam flashed her a warm smile before side stepping her and walking away

Alhaji Idris was seated on the sofa watching Aljazeera: one of the channels Maryam hate in her life because of the way their Father watches it and stop them from watching what they like. Those channels are plenty BBC, Fox News, TVC and the stupid one among them all is NTA. She hates that channel with her life and the stupid thing about the channel is that That News @9 is always the time her favourite series is starting 🙄

"Welcome my Daughter. Have a sit" She sat down on the carpet greeting him. He also answered asking of her well being

"Yau manyan baki gare mu : We have special guests today" Her Mother in-law appeared with a tray on her hand. She kept the tray while Maryam kept looking at her like she had grown two heads

"Aikuwa  Today we have special guests" Alhaji Idris said smiling at Maryam. Hajia Hajara uncapped the drink which Maryam talked. She knows what's about to happen to her

"Mama don't worry I'll do it" She tried collecting the cup but the woman didn't let her. Maryam knew she was a goner. The woman poured the drink into the tumbler and Maryam briefly closed her eyes waiting for it to pour on her body but surprisingly it didn't

"Are you okay Maryam?  she's giving you" Came her Father in-laws Voice which made her open her eyes. The woman was surely handing the drink to her with a smile. Yes a smile. Maryam collected the drink and forced a smile. She was too scared to take the drink  but she sipped and kept it on the tray

"I'm sorry I had to send your husband on a long time Business trip" Baba said smiling.
I never thought that she mentally said to herself. She thought he just decided to run away from her

"But I wonder why he stayed too long there. You said it won't take that long " Mama said looking at her husband

I waited for you to say this" Maryam said to herself.

Alhaji Idris shrugged "He told me that there was a delay"

"Actually Baba you don't have to say sorry. Who am I that you would apologize" Yes she's right who is she? she's nothing to Abdullah and his mother 

"You are his wife mana "

Maryam chuckled only if he knew " Actually I'm planning to visit my parents in Kaduna. You see since when I came here I didn't go to Kaduna"

"No problem. I wanted to take you wallahi and check on My Kaduna branch but was caught up with some things. But since I know Your Father is taking care of the company, I don't need to worry" He shrugged at the end

"You don't have to Take me. I just came to inform "

"When are you leaving kenan?" Mama asked

"In two days time" She replied
