Maryam sighed as the scorching sun kept piercing her skin. She stood in front of a wooden oak door knocking on the door. She gave the paper on her hand a once over and stared at the door with hope. He hopes she didn't miss the address. The door opened revealing a woman in her mid 40s. The woman flashed her a smile "How may I help you young lady?"

Maryam smiled "Dr safeena Abdulmalik it's nice to see you again" The woman didn't fail to notice the 'again' in her sentence
"Again? Last time I checked I don't even know You"

Maryam chuckled "Oh sorry I wanted to say 'nice to meet you now"

The woman nodded stepping away from the door letting Maryam in. Maryam smiled and moved into the house. The woman pointed a chair and Maryam sat down

"Dr Safeena"

"I'm no more a doctor"

"Okay retired Dr-"

"I didn't retire I quit the job"

Maryam shrugged shoving her hand into her bag "I believe you are the doctor that took this delivery" She gave the woman the certificate making her gulp

"No I'm not" She lied

Maryam feigned sadness "Oh no I think the typewriter made a mistake and inserted a different doctor's name because your name is the the name here"

The woman sighed keeping the certificate "Let bygones be bygones please"

Maryam who got worried stood up and approached the woman. She sat close to her wrapping her arm on her shoulder "I know probably something  happened. But keeping it with you and not letting it out would only be a problem to you. Your furtive behavior would never help you"

She wriggled standing up "Just leave! I don't know What you want to know and honestly don't care. Just leave!" She yelled with a stoic face. Maryam stood up and grabbed her bag. She checked the back pocket and brought out a paper "When you are ready for the truth to explode, I'm always available" She kept the paper on a rack and left

Hajia Aisha sighed wetting her chapped lips with the peak of her tongue. Her husband came into the  room. He closed the door getting her attention

"What is my Wife thinking about?" He asked  sitting down close to her

"Maryam. I don't know why you lied to her again"

"Aisha! How do you want me to tell her the truth? She would hate us Aisha"

She rolled her eyes "But I think it's more proper for her to know it from us and she would forgive you after she calms down"

"I won't Take that risk"

"Okay then but I'm scared about the time she'd know most especially the lame lie you formed"

"What do you want me to do? That was the only thing I could form at the moment"

She sighed "I hope we're over it"

Maryam stood up and went out of the room. She went downstairs and rolled her eyes as her gaze fell on Abdullah. She moved to the sitting room and sat down on a sofa. Abdullah stood up and came to where she sat. He bend down a little and hugged her which she twisted her mouth and for an unknown reason, she didn't flinch
