Hello all! Author here. Quick pause in the story for a little update here!

Comic Con came to a city near me yesterday. They required proof of a vaccine or a negative covid test and masks to be worn at all times (you could briefly take it off for photo-ops because there was plexiglass separating you and the celebrity guest).

I attended the event for the entire day, and saw so many cool things. But the thing I wanted to share with you is who I met.

For those of you who didn't know, I am actually a bigger fan of Lord Of The Rings than I am Marvel. And my favorite character is one of the Hobbits named Pippin. Well, the actor who played Pippin is Billy Boyd, and he came to Comic Con.

My dad a long time ago purchased a piece of the cloak that Pippin wore in the movie (it has a certificate of authenticity) and he put the piece of cloak in the resin of a hand made pen that he engraved with Pippin's name. He then spent two minutes at least admiring my pen and talking to me about how awesome it was and that he appreciated being able to use it and that he appreciated me for being such a fan and for being so nice (literally almost started crying when he said that) and then he signed my book and we exchanged thank-you's.

Later on in the day, I went for my photo-op and was so nervous. I approached and took of my mask and just blurted out a "hi!" And he smiled and said "hi!" Back before we turned and took our picture. After the photo clicked he turned back to me to say goodbye and I said thank you, and that was it!

Overall, it was an experience I'll never forget because he made it so special for me.
