"Why did you force Faris for letting you study? What was the need? Why do you have to waste your husband's hard-earned money over such a petty thing?" Khalid snarled causing her to look at him with widened eyes.

She quietly put the carton of books on the table and gave her father a pointed look. He was sitting on the huge white central sofa like a king who had a right to order around people. Who considered others inferior and small.

"My husband deliberately and happily permitted me to continue my education. He isn't conservative and narrow-minded like others," she calmly said.

Khalid's jaw clenched in anger. He got up from the sofa and headed towards her. Ajwa gulped but didn't move from her place. "You are taunting me?"

She shook her head. "No. I am just saying. I didn't mean any specific person."

Khalid curled his fingers in a fist and tried to approach her but right at this moment, a horn of a car sounded outside. It was soon followed by the bell of the main gate. Perhaps Faris had come. Ajwa relaxed her tense features and even her father did the same before she walked towards the porch.

Opening the gate, she was met by her dashing husband. Wearing a black body-hugging shirt and white pants, he was looking handsome as usual. Faris's grey eyes roamed all over her figure from head to toe before coming to a halt at her face. He was able to see her extra preparation today and it made him appreciate her beauty more which got enhanced by this small effort. He smiled at her.

"Sunshine," he murmured.

Ajwa yet again got timid by his appreciative gaze. He always used to scrutinize her like this which made her pulse to sped up. "AssalamoAlaikum," she said.

"Walaikum Assalam," he replied.

"Come inside." She slid a bit away to make a way for him.

Faris entered inside, his stare still focused on just her. "How are you?"

She just nodded with a smile. But she got stunned when Faris cupped her right cheek and gently stroked there. "You are looking gorgeous."

She bit her lower lip. "I should pack my things. You sit with Baba. He is waiting for you."

She rushed off after that. Her heart was thumping against her chest though and she was afraid if she would stay here, Faris would hear her beats.

He grinned seeing her going away like this. This girl was surely intriguing and he was getting pulled towards her. Just when he thought to go walk inside as well, Ayesha came. She wanted to talk to him and as she knew it wouldn't be possible with her husband lingering on her side, so she decided to get Faris here. He greeted her respectfully.

"My daughter is very precious. Please take care of her always, Faris. And just overlook her mistakes. She is very sensitive and had seen and suffered a lot in her life. Even you know what led to your marriage. It somehow made her bitter but she is very pure from heart. If you will take care of her, she will forget everything and just focus on you," Ayesha explained.

"I can understand this. I don't mind her speaking her mind. That's what makes Ajwa unique that she doesn't keep anything in her heart and knows how to take a stand for herself. She is assertive and bold and I like her for this. You rest assured, Aunt. She is my wife. Someone very respectful and precious to me as well. I will always take care of her," Faris reassured her.

Ayesha nodded in understanding and touched his taut bicep. "My daughter has gone through a lot and she craves for love. Please love her and make her feel special and loved always. If you give her love, she will also respond with the same intensity of love and loyalty."
