She was dealing with so many emotions right now. Her heart was so overwhelmed by feelings that she just gets drowned in their intensity. The fear of him leaving her, their intimacy, his touch, his scent, and his closeness was making her touch up. She had first time trusted a man enough to let him come this near to her and cry in front Of him. Her swelled-up heart was inflicting yet to just believe in him and let her become an open book for him.

But this book had its title hidden from him; the most important part. Without it, no one could understand what this book would be about. And then she just exposed it. Her emotional state had overpowered her realistic thinking and she had to spit the truth.

"Faris, I love you," she murmured, leaving both of them stunned.

Faris's whole body froze while Ajwa stiffened in her place. She had finally said it. Today this act made her so happy, special, and close to him that she just couldn't stop herself. Ajwa couldn't believe her tongue which had practically thwarted the agreement which they had settled between them before making their marriage real.

Ajwa had no such intention to make herself feel this desperate for his love ever since that rainy day incident. She had pledged to herself that she would never bring it again between them. However today it was different. The feel of their intimacy was changed, her heart condition was also altered and the atmosphere was also dreamy. And it was all due to Faraan's sudden appearance and poking in their marriage. When his earlier claim of Faraan over his wife made that emotionless Faris feel possessive of her. At the same time, Ajwa too started feeling the same for him.

In the beginning, Ajwa was thinking Faris would be the same as his brother; egoistic, selfish, and sly. Or perhaps brutal, self-centered, and violent like her father. But he was none like them. He was totally different. So soft-spoken, gentle, caring, and affectionate. She who was first thinking of getting rid of this marriage got attracted to him and soon this changed into love. But after that embarrassing day, she decided to not bring it between them. Now here, she already confessed.

"I have accepted that we will never bring love between us."

She remembered her words from a few weeks ago.

Ajwa gulped and looked away.  She had strayed away from her words. She knew he could never reciprocate because he couldn't feel it yet. For him, love was not realistic, a waste of time, and illogical. Yet she again made a fool out of herself in front of this man for whom logic was the only thing.

"Ajwa," he called her, softly.

She gazed up at him. Faris was staring at her with narrowed eyes and a piercing look as though he was trying to gauge her inner state. His eyes always felt like an X-ray to her. But it never bothered her as it did before.

She bit her lower lip and thought to get up but Faris was hovering above her, completely rendering her immobilized. She couldn't even flee from here. Humiliation filled her and her cheeks reddened with his effects. Why she always got herself this frantic in front of him?

Faris caressed her cheek. "You are perhaps a bit emotional right now."  He bent down and kissed her eyelid. "Don't overthink."

She shook her head. If the topic had started then it should end with truth as well. "I am neither getting over dramatic nor overthinking. That's right."

Faris's jaw clenched and that attractive vein on his neck got more prominent. He never thought he would hear this from her someday. He couldn't feel it and she also shouldn't because she would remain empty-handed all her life. And he didn't want her to experience it. Their marriage was settled on commitment and loyalty and even Ajwa agreed to this. There were no extra perks of love in this. It was plainly a relation of mutual understanding,  dedication, and obligation. Even she said the same before diving into the legal relationship with him.
