Robert's bedroom was dark yet cozy feeling. The curtains pulled across the windows kept out most of the sunlight, though the room was still warm. Almost too warm. Robert stretched out his arm to pull Kimberly into his chest, but his eyes shot open once all he could feel was an empty bed.

No, they did not share a bed every night, Kimberly still had her own space, but after the way Robert had her begging the previous day, she was like a love-sick puppy, attached to his side. She fell asleep in his bed besides him, but now she was gone.

Robert immediately jumped out of his bed and rushed towards his bedroom door. He didn't even put on trousers to cover his boxers or even slippers to keep his feet warm. He pushed open Kimberly's bedroom door. Not there. He ran down to Florence's bedroom. Also not there. He began to run down the staircase, calling her name.

Did he think she'd have left him? No. But Jessica being back really was beginning to play with his head. "Kimberly May!" He shouted as he burst into the living room, breath ragged.

Jessica was sat on the couch, looking at him with a clueless look. "What the matter?"

"Have you seen Kimberly?" He looked like a mad man.

Jess stood to her feet and casually walked towards Robert, pulling him into the living room. "You need to relax. She's out with Caiden getting some lunch." He let out a sigh of relief. She let out a small laugh. "Naw, did I really affect you that much when I ran out on you?" She raised her hand to Robert's face, she was only slightly shorter than him giving a very powerful and confident look to her. She pushed his hair back with her fingers, continuing to get closer.

Robert grabbed her by the wrist, removing her hand from him. "You leaving was the best thing that could have ever happened to me." He practically growled.

Jessica offered a fake pout. "No need to try and be hurtful." Suddenly her eyes shifted down, eyebrows raising with a please look on her face.

Robert followed her gaze and finally realised how inappropriately he was dressed in the moment. He reached for a blanket on the back of the couch and wrapped it around his waist like a towel. "Why did you send those two out?"

"What do you mean?" She then began looking bored. She took her seat again, crossing one leg over the other. Although she asked a question, Jessica spoke without Robert's answer. "The two need to get along. Caiden was telling me they don't have the best relationship."

Robert also took a seat, but on the opposite couch to his ex-wife "that would be because he is psychotic."

"I think it's a good opportunity for them to get closer, and for us to patch up our differences. As well as a long hard chat about if you're being ethical with your new toy."

Robert locked his jaw. "She is not a toy. And I have nothing to say to you."

Jess smiled. "That's fine by me, as I have a lot to say to you."

"Oh yeah? And what on earth could you have to say to me?" Robert clenched his fist. Jessica could see. It was what she wanted.

"Let's go for lunch, darling, we'll talk there." And with that she stood to her feet and left to her bedroom.

Robert took a moment to compose himself, but the moment he stood to his feet he was angry again. He caught sight of a vase in the middle of the room, noticing the flowers were Jessica's favourite. Dahlias. She put them there. In a state of anger he picked up the crystal vase and threw it at the wall, water along with glass and flowers falling all on the hardwood floor. Bitch.

The two past lovers sat in a quiet coffee shop so they could get to talking. Robert was still very unimpressed from before, but even more so now. Whereas Robert dressed casually in a pair of jeans and a shirt, Jessica wore a dress that had almost her whole chest out. It was clearly an attempt to catch Robert's attention. It wouldn't work.

"If you want to talk, go on." She had been talking casually about herself the past few minutes, acting as if they were on a date. He just wanted to get to it. He didn't want to be seen with her.

"If you wish." She smiled evilly. "She isn't gonna be able to love you like I did."

Robert couldn't help but laugh. "Use me for money and then run out? Sure."

"She's a stranger. She's half your age, or is that what interests you?" Robert was about to speak but Jess leant over in her seat, raising her finger over his lips to keep him quiet. "Sure, she's pretty, cute, probably makes you feel young, but is that what you really want? Don't you want a real woman? A picture perfect family? Not to mention amazing sex." She leaned back in her seat, a smug look on her face.

If she wants to play. I'll play. "Contrary to your beliefs, my issue with you isn't your ageing body or your sour face, it's everything to do with your personality that I dislike. And I hate to be the one to tell you this, but no amount of surgery can fix your ugly attitude."

Her eyes widened, showing he had hit a nerve. It was like a game of battleships. They would take shots at each other until it flickered in one another's eyes that they were getting somewhere. "She may have melted your heart but you're truly cold to the core." The woman straightened her back, giving off confidence once again. "You and I have history or don't you remember that? We have a family together. Don't you think the tabloids would pick up on that and put us back together as a happy family once again?"

"You need to remove your head from your ass. We had a family. You're making a fool out of yourself if you think anyone will look at us and think we're in love." He leaned closer, eyes burning into hers.

She cackled. "Are you sure? Rumour has it I'm the one you're leaving her for." She turned her phone to face the man.

His chest rose and fell with anger. "You bitch." She simply winked. "And how do you think Kimberly will feel when she reads that?"

"Caiden's with her. She'll be fine." Jess rolled her eyes with a huff. She reached for Robert's face, pushing his lips up into a smile. "Oh come on, smile you old grump."

"You have gone beyond far!" He once again had to yank her hand from him. "You had your chance years ago but no, you ripped out my heart and crumbled it to pieces as I watched. The games you played and I always let you win. I let you mind fuck me for years just because I craved your love. I would sometimes wake up and wait at the door for you to come back. I couldn't help but look for you! Then I received divorce papers and that's when something died inside of me. I knew you were never coming back. You made me an emotionless monster!" He stood to his feet, smashing his hands onto the table. "I'm finally beginning to be myself once again. Keep messing with me and I swear I will ruin your life. I am not your helpless mutt anymore."
