Kaila POV
I awoke with my neck in knots...but that isn't what hit me hard...my whole body hurt from last night's attempted abduction.
"How ya feeling? You're probably feeling pretty hurt eh?" (Y/N) says from across the room.
"Yea," I respond as Jake enters my view.
"Thank god, sis. I thought you were a goner," he says smiling as he hands me a glass of water
"I did too," I say as he nods.
"We still need to go to the Chiefs meeting," Jack reminds me
"I may need some help getting there," I joke
"I can carry you," (Y/N) says as I blush
"No, I'll be fine. I was only joking," I say as he nods
"It's starting soon, so we better get down there," Jack says as I stand up.
Even though he wasn't a townsperson, (Y/N) tagged along. Me and Jack described our bandit situation to him on our walk there
"You say they are starting to kill?" He asks
"Only the girls...we think they are...well...you know," I say as he nods grimly.
We reached an area with a stage. Most of the town was already there. Only a few stragglers remained.
The chief walked out. He was a fat man, and had expensive clothing on him. My stomach turned as I saw him.
We barely have enough food to maintain our body weight...and here he is...fat like a pig.
He talked in a snarly and condescending voice.
"You people, you guys need to work harder to protect this village. With the recent raids, my personal food supply has decreased a little. So I'm taking some of the public supply so I don't starve," he says with a proud face...the whole town grumbled
"Also, there are reports of a women being taken...these reports are false. The girls who are taken wanted to be," he says as my blood boils as the bruises start pulsing in pain
"The bandits will leave us alone eventually," he says as the town uproars
"You said that last year!!" A man yells as the town joins in.
The town went silent as a horn was sounded...but it wasn't from the Chiefs...it was from the forest
"They are coming!" someone says as chaos erupts
The people didn't have enough time to leave the area, the bandits were on top of us instantly.
(Y/N) went along with the plan...much to my dismay.
The bandits herded us up in a giant circle...and the leader of the group walked to the chief
"Here's your money, now stick to your word and let us have the women and children," he says as the chief smiles devilishly.
"Of course," he says as the people look at him with lost eyes
"Only out for your own skin!" I yell as the bandits take attention to me
"She's pretty," they say licking their lips as they approach me.
I start remembering last night as fear starts running through my body.
Crack!
In a bright flash and an even louder bang then last night! (Y/N) was in front of one of the bandits, he did an uppercut on one of them, knocking the guy out instantly. He grabbed the long sword on the bandits back as he smirked
