(Y/N) POV
I live alone in the mountains, and I still dream of Kate, even though her face is a little blurry nowadays. I still can see her vibrant Blue hair flowing in the wind inside of Aincrad
Another 50 years and my memory of her is getting even hazier. However, the more I forget her, the more I can't wait to see her again.
The fact that scares me, is that the people I would have known in this world, are all gone. Angalo is surely dead, Karp is gone, Kent is gone. I'm truly alone.
Sure I've meet a lot of people in my travels...but I kept my distance
I'm just waiting as the time is ticking away.
Another dozen years go by.
And In only a few more hours, we will be finally released
I figure I'll talk with Kirito one last time. I walk to the magnificent Empire he made. And I simply sneak to his quarters. Which wasn't hard.
And there, in the bed, lie Kirito and Asuna in bed
"You two aren't hard at it right?" I ask as I close my eyes
"I figured you'd come," Kirito says
"Yeah, it's been a long time eh? At least 150 years," I say still blown away by that huge number
"Yeah, it's been a while," He says
"So? You two ready for the real world," I ask as Kirito looks down
"I'm not looking forward to it. My brain just wants to rest," He says
"Yeah, I get where you're coming from. But I can't wait to see Kate," I say as I feel weak in my knees
"Yeah, that is if they let us interact with them, I imagine they will brainwash us first thing," He says
"Not me," I mutter
"They aren't washing my mind until I see her again," I say
"I see, I feel tired, I'll just rest here," Kirito says
"I have someone to visit," I say as I spent the next few hours heading to a family. It took me a while, but I tracked down Angalos family tree.
They are well off. The first thing I noticed was how they treated my sword. It was still in perfect condition as when I last saw it. As I was looking around, an elderly lady noticed me
"Hello there young man," She says
"Jee, I don't feel young," I say laughing
"Hmm," she says looking at me
"That's your sword isn't it," She says as I look at her
"That's silly, isn't the weilder of the sword supposed to be dead?" I say trying to rule me out
"No, your (Y/N), just how my mother described you," She says as I look at her in shock
"Hmm, I can't get out of this one can I," I say
"Nope," she says as I suddenly feel sleepy
Soon enough. My vision goes black...and then a bright light
"(Y/N)," I hear a heavenly voice
When my eyes adjust, I see a beautiful blue-haired woman
"Kate," I mutter as I finally see her after 200 years
My heart beats faster as I see her
"Kate," I say as I breath in relief
"Your back," she says as she smiles...oh that smile...its something I haven't seen in 2 centuries
"How long has it been?" I ask
"A month," she answers
"Ha, lucky, it's been 200 years since I saw you," I say with weary eyes. I struggle to sit up, but Kate helps me
"That's a long time," She says with a perfect smile
"I missed you so much" I say
"I couldn't remember what your face looked like," I say as she frowns. She looked perfect, my heart overflowed with love for this girl
"But I never forgot how pretty it was," I say as I hug her. A hug I've been waiting 200 years for. She's finally in my arms...my love is finally with me again.
Without knowing, I started crying. I could care less that people were watching. It just feels so good. The warmth of her hug melts my heart as every breath I take it beats out of my chest.
"I've missed you," I whisper as I hug her tighter
"I missed you so much," I repeat as I loosen up
"I'm here now," She says
"I know, this seems like a dream...funny isn't it. You'd think the 200 years would seem like the dream...but I've spent more time in a dream then I have in reality...and the thing that sucks...you weren't in that dream," I say as I breakdown into tears
"I can barely remember anything from before the underworld...it's terrible...as if to torture me. I remember all the good things about you while not being able to see them," I cry as she just hugs me...that's good enough, all I want is to stay like this
"I wish I coulda been there," She says
"Yeah," I mutter as I look at the people
I know what they were thinking
"Then go ahead, wipe the memories away," I say as I look at Kate one last time
"So, cya later," I say bittersweetly as she now has tears coming from her eyes
"I love you," She says as everything after...is a blank memory
