(Y/N) POV
"Oh come on dude," Carter says as we work.
"I'm telling you, I can't do it," I say stressed out.
"Dude...you've literally almost died for her multiple times," Carter continues
"I'm sure you can Propose," he finishes.
Yeah. Me and him are talking about me proposing to Kate.
It's only been a year since we graduated from university. Hell, May and Logan had their first kid, Amy a few months ago.
Kate loves that kid...she's a cutie. She looks Identical to May when she was a baby.
"Trust me, I'm sure you don't want to be the last to propose this time...hell you didn't even do it in SAO," Carter says
"I didn't want to rush it," I admit as he laughs
"You two have known each other for years!" He says as he slaps my back
"I know, I know," I mutter
"Himiko has been hounding me to tell you to finally do it," he says
"I'll do it next month," I tell him as he looks at me sternly
"You said that last month," he mutters
"It was 2 months ago actually," I say digging my grave deeper
"Point proven," he mutters as I laugh
"Oh boy," I sigh
"Just do it, I'm sure she'll be happy about it," he says I nod
"Yeah...Ill pick up the ring today," I say as he smiles
"Now that's more like it," he says as we get back to work.
The day ended and I left for a jewelry store.
Knowing Kate, she won't want anything super expensive. But I'm sure she wants something that looks nice.
I ended up with a nice simple silver design, I guess they do engravings right here at the store.
I was thinking of just leaving it bare...but since I was already here I figure why not.
I need something that connects us...or something I really love about her.

It's bad I know...maybe even cringy....but I don't care.
They brought the ring to the back and came back out after 20 minutes
They gave me a case to put in and I went on my way.
I returned home to the sweet smell of dinner.
"Smells nice," I say walking into the kitchen.
Kate spins around and my entire day just becomes that much better.
"How was work?" She asks me
"Carter talked my ear off," I laugh as she giggles
"May and Amy came over today," Kate says as I smile.
Logan and May are the first ones to have a kid. But I hear James and Riley are trying for one.
"Really? What did the little trouble maker do this time," I laugh as she turns to me seriously.
"May was complaining after Poor little Amy puked all over Logan," Kate says actually concerned.
"Let me guess...he passed out cold?" I ask as she looks at me
"No he didn't...but May did," she says as I struggle to hide my chuckle,
I'd never thought of May as someone to faint at the sight of puke.
"It was quite messy I hear," Kate says smiling
"I bet it was," I mutter
"Anyway, dinner will be ready soon," She says
We ate dinner once it was done.
And after we washed up, we lounged on the couch.
Kate was snuggled up to me under the blankets.
I felt something press against my side in my pocket.
I uncomfortably reached in my pocket to find the source.
I pulled it out and found the box that the ring was inside.
"What's that?" Kate asks as my heart starts pounding.
If I hide it, it'll seem suspicious.
"I don't know," I say as I open it and show it to her.
She looks at it confused.
"Will you marry me?" I suddenly asks as it clicks for her.
"Your not teasing me right?" She asks as I shake my head no.
"I'm serious," I say getting a little nervous.
"Of course I will," she says pulling my face in to kiss her.
"It was about time you know," she laughs.
"You know I'm slow when it comes to things like this," I say as she laughs
