Chapter 35 - Good Job

We're still stuck in the room for 2 hours. I don't getting locked with Kai but Cordelia and Zane were just neck to neck with each other. They always fight and bicker like kids.

It was so obvious to me now that Zane likes Cordelia. There's no doubt in that but it seems like she hates him for some reason. I turned to Kai who's slowly dozing off. He must be so tired since he has to catch up with work and then come here to Paris.

"You can sleep." I said as I kissed his cheek. He shook his head but I know he's so sleep.

"I'm going out, this is too much. I want to know." Cordelia got up from her seat and walked to the door. Zane just looked at her as she walked out the door. Zane then followed her out not long after she left.

"Should we go out too?" Kai asked.

"No, let's just stay here for awhile." I said as I held his hand. Suddenly Cordelia and Zane walked in again.

"What? What's wrong?" I asked.

"They won't tell us, they will move us in 20 minutes. We will go straight to the headquarters." Cordelia answered and I nodded.

"Zane, you should relax a little bit. You look stressed out." I said and Zane sighed.

"I really can't relax, someone is making me want to punch something." He said and it's clearly Cordelia. Cordelia and I actually the most stubborn one in the group. Thalia is the nice one and Alexandra is just the troublemaker of the group.

I don't know what's going on between the two of them but it's complicated as hell.

After 20 minutes, they brought us out and we got into the helicopter. We flew straight to the headquarters where all of the ILLICIT members are present. We got off of the helicopter and I hugged Kai as the helicopter left.

"What exactly happen?" I asked Mason as he walked past me.

"Alexandra."

"What happened to her?"

"Kidnapped." He said and then he turned to Kai.

"What's with people and kidnapping?" Cordelia said.

"Because she's stubborn." Kai answered and I turned to Cordelia.

"It's either kidnap the girl or leave the girl." Zane said and I turned to Cordelia who walked away from us.

"Are you okay? Did something happen with you and Cordelia?" I asked.

"Complicated and I'm planning to be done with it." Zane said and then he walked away.

I've heard a lot of things about ILLICIT and all I can say is that.. they're not playing around. They're headquarter is like basically every people who loves technology's dream.

It felt like it came out of a movie.

"Let's go to my office." Deandra said and she led me to the lift. We're going up to the 6th floor. She led me into her office and all I can say is that.. this place is amazing.

"I wonder what Alexandra did.." She said as she sat on the sofa. She gestured me to sit beside her. As soon as I sat down, she sat on my lap cupping my face.

She crashed her lips to mine and I put my hands on her waist. She put her hands on my chest start to unbuttoning my shirt.

"Deandra." I said as I stopped her.

"What?" She looked at me innocently.

"We're in the office, what if someone come in." I said and she pulled a table right beside the sofa. She showed me that she's locking the door and make the lights dim.

"You cheeky girl." I chuckled and she conntinued to unbutton my shirt. She started kissing my neck and I let her take control because I like it when she does. She unbuckled my belt and before she can continue.. there's an alert.

"Let's go." She sighed. She got off of me and I quickly buttoned up my shirt again and buckled my belt. We walked out from the room and she led me down to the basement.

There's a whole security room with big screen and a lot of computers. As soon as I walked in, I made an eye contact with Declan Serano. He gestured me to come to him.

"How about you use your skill now?" He said as he sat me down on one of the computers. I turned to see Zion sitting beside me. I turned go the computer and started to help find Alexandra.

I started from open all the CCTV footages from the place earlier. I need to start where I saw her when I first came to the scene. That way, I can help track her down.

I followed her movement slowly and tried to connect the dots. As I was tracing her, I heard someone said. "Got her!" I turned to see Zion successfully tracking her.

"You did great." Deandra kissed my cheek.

"Thank you." I smiled to her. Deandra then led me out to the cafeteria to eat because we're so hungry. I saw a lot of employees working here and they immediately gave a nod to Deandra as she passed by.

"From what I read, back then.. ILLICIT used to be a secret. I mean.. like the members." I said and she nodded.

"My father was not a fan of being exposed because according to him, it's dangerous." She answered and I nodded.

"It's just weird to me." I raised my eyebrows when she said that.

"Why?"

"Being born as his daughter is such a privilege. It's like a curse and a blessing at the same time. Things like kidnapping and be in danger can.. be encountered everytime." She said and I turned away.

"Now, I felt guilty. I guess I really do deserve a big punch."

"The moment they knew it was you, they don't really see it as an amber alert since all of my security team told my father about your existence. They knew we were seeing each other or else.. he already killed you." I turned to her and she smiled.

"You did a great job, Kai."

"Thank you."
