Sinclair held me for a few more seconds in shock until he came to his senses. He leans back from me and looks me right in the eye before putting his hands around my neck.
"Why are you back, Ana?" Sin snarled at me.
"Please stop," I said, as if I couldn't get out of his hold in a second.
"And tell me why should I?"
"Because I love you, Sinclair," I said.
Gag.
"Then why did you leave?" he asked.
"I'll tell you everything once you let go of my neck."
Sin looked at me for a good second before letting go of my neck.
"Tell me everything," he said, going back to his seat behind the desk.
"As you already know, Arius is my mate. I was so blinded by the illusion of having another mate that I left you. It was the biggest mistake of my life," I said, willing fake tears to come to my eyes.
"He-he was horrible to me," I said, sobbing.
Wow, I should win an Oscar for this.
"In the open he made me act like we were a perfect couple, but behind closed doors, he hurt me."
Moving my hair so that Sinclair could see the mark on my neck, I said "One day, he wanted me to do something, but I finally stood up to him and then he forced his mark on me."
"When I saw Adonis come, I knew he was going to be my saving grace and take me back to you," I said.
"Don't worry, sweetheart, I'm here and with my help, you'll finally get your revenge."
I gave him a small smile and said, "I missed you calling me sweetheart. Arius called me this weird nickname, amare, and I hated it."

"Adonis will take you to my room so you can settle down back into the castle."

"Oh, um, actually I would prefer my old room."
Sin raised an eyebrow in suspicion and asked, "And why is that?"
"After everything I've been through, I'm still not really comfortable being so close to a male."
I knew he wanted to retort back, but couldn't because that would break his perfect guy disguise.
"Of course," Sin replied, almost mocking me.
I smiled and turned to Adonis so that I could follow him back to my old room.
Right as we were about to leave, Sin called out and said, "Adonis, come back here after you drop off Ana, I need to speak with you."
