Monsters aren't born. They are created. Not from the imagination of someone's deepest fears, but from tangible negative energy. Darkness formed from cruelty, pain, and evil.

That is how Devil was made; How I came to be. A protector of a little orphaned boy who needed someone there to confront the demons masquerading as humans.

In his short life, he knew more how wicked life truly was. His selfish mother caring more about wealth and reputation than the wellbeing of her own children. A false father figure, in reality, a wolf in sheep's clothing. Shedding his facade behind closed doors, where no one could witness his sinister deeds.

The boy felt firsthand what true evil was and after a tragic event, his family of five was eradicated. With no other family to go to, the boy was dropped off at the nearest orphanage with nothing but a trash bag containing a few precious treasures.

After that day, the boy thought he left evil behind... but he couldn't be more wrong. No one ever bothered to get to know the boy, instead, they were cruel and vicious. Beaten by his fellow orphans, locked in The Room by his caretaker, which was nothing but a windowless coat closet with a padlock on the outside.

His life turned into self-preservation. He wasn't living, just merely surviving.

Then I showed up.

The children learned real quick to steer clear of the boy, not wanting to face my wrath. As I was much stronger than the boy and never shied away from a fight. Eventually, I became the bully and them my prey.

Years pass and the boy finally became a man. The caretaker having kicked him out the day he turned eighteen. He was no longer her responsibility and much too eager to rid herself of  my vengeful behavior.
