⚠️ Warning. This chapter contains lots of fluff. Like a lot. Like a sickening amount. You've been warned. ⚠️

Also, I'd like to dedicate this chapter to a very dear friend of mine. She has been supportive of my writing since day one even though this book is very triggering for her, she has stuck with me up to this point, regardless of how many times it's made her cry.

I love you ShaylaHelmlinger

It was a time for healing.

Time to move on from all the pain and just... breathe.

The sun was rising in the distance, it peaked over the mountainous hills on the horizon, sending out streaks of yellow and orange through the thick clouds across the land.

The early morning dew stuck to the grass like a fine mist, and the light fog in the air swirled over the yard and in through the windows, filling the cabin with the crisp smell of winter approaching.

Swinging the axe through the air, I brought the blade down onto the log, splitting the wood into two.

I had woken just before the sky began to brighten with the coming day's rays, I needed to make sure we had all the supplies we'd need for this evening's storm.

Snow was in the forecast, making it the first snowfall of the season.

Rows of wood were piling up against the cabin now, a handful of trees casualties to my axe that hadn't seen any action in almost a decade.
