Chapter 1: Luz's beginning

They were captured by the emperor's coven. It was a accident. They were simply shopping at the night market for supplies and elixirs.

After a bloody battle against belos, Lucky they both escape thanks to Oswald knocking out belos.

Days later at the owl house.

"She's beautiful..." Oswald whispered, tears prickling their eyes. They brought a finger to touch the baby's cheek, just barely brushing it.

The human baby girl responded with a giggle, gripping her father's finger.

Eda simply nodded, she looked exhausted but managed to smile. After many hours of pain, their baby finally came into this world.

"Welcome to the boiling isles, little one." Eda's eyes slowly closing as she got the rest she deserved.

Oswald picking up the infant, kept thinking of names for the little infant but stopped themselves due to the fact that they were going to send their baby to the human realm to live a normal and safer life without seeing her biological parents getting chased by the emperor's coven again.

Oswald finally made it to the nursery door.

"Hoot Hoot! Is that the–HMPF!" The bird tube was interrupted as Oswald covered his mouth.

"Shh!" Oswald shushed, "She's sleeping, please be quiet..." he felt the little one stir in their arms before stopping and sighing.

Hooty gave a little nod before He took their hand away.

"I'll be there quietest Bird Ever! You can count on me!" Hooty Blurted.

Instantly the baby girl started to wail and cry.

Oswald let out a glare at Hooty as they went inside. Oswald started to rock the little one, going into the nursery room to sit on the couch.

"Shhh....your ok little one..." Oswald whispered, putting a finger on the human infant cheek and rubbing in soothing circles. Surprisingly it managed to work as the baby's cries lessened to soft chirps-

Wait hold up? chirps?

Suddenly Oswald saw feathers, alot of them. They were brown and very soft as more of the feathers sprouted.

they weren't holding a baby anymore...they were holding a little Owlet, She was still so small and it seemed all her feathers didn't come in.

"T-The curse...I thought...it wouldn't effect you.." Oswald uttered, verbal confusion written on their face as they started to pet the little Owlet. She seemed to love the affection.

The thoughts of Eda's reaction, how she would start blaming herself, hating herself. Oh hell Titan!

He didn't want that....

They could just not tell Eda....

Luz is 2 weeks old.

Camila had finally gotten home from the hospital with baby Luz. The doctors had kept her there for two weeks with their concerns over Luz's health, found nothing wrong except she already had teeth.

There were only four of them, tiny little fangs.

Two weeks later.

Camila picked up the big load of laundry, going up the stairs and too Luz's room.

Her eyes widened, dropping their basket at the sight of the tore up room. Their adopted daughter was in the middle of the messed up room in her otter onesie, happily chewing on a pillow.

Camila panicked going into the room to see the damage. Blankets were torn and ripped, pillow pieces were scattered all over the floor, and claw marks were on the walls as pieces of furniture littered the bedroom.
This would cost a lot of money to fix...

"Luz!" She scolded, hands on their hips as she tapped their foot to get her attention.

Luz immediately dropped her pillow on to the floor, her smile turning into sadness as her otter ears went down.

......Yup this was going to be a long journey for them both.
