Guess I should get back to this one for a while, eh? After seeing the final trailer for the last episode. Got me emotional

Luz turned on her phone and hit record. "¡Hola, Mamá! I know you don't want me staying in the Demon Realm, but I'm recording this because I think we can find a middle ground. This is a world of magic and beauty. Just look!" She pointed the camera outside the window, and got the horror of her life so far when she recorded Hooty removing the flesh off his bones and hung it on the laundry wire.

After getting over what she just witnessed, Luz began recording herself in the streets of Bonesborough. "Well, you should know, I'm even learning magic. And as a human, it impresses pretty much everyone." She cast a light spell, but unknowingly shined it in the three eyes of Boscha, the Grudgby captain.

"Human! If you ever do that again, I will set your eyes on fire!"

Luz took off running just as the girl cast a fire spell circle.

Luz extinguished the fire on her head and said, "Sure, the Demon Realm can be a little..." Scary? Stinky? Gross? "But, there's no safer place than Hexside School of Magic and Demonics, right, Principal Bump?"

She pointed her camera at the principal. "Hmm? Why, yes. The well-being of our students is our top priority. Which is why we send all our troublemakers to our new and improved detention pit."

Luz pointed the camera at the detention pit, where a student was being thrown in by a hall monitor. "Please no! Help me."

"That's enough of that."

Outside the school building, Luz, Gus and Willow were sitting on the staircase. Luz didn't really pay attention to what they were saying and just stared at her phone.

"You know, I think he does it cause he's shy," said Gus. "He's just evil and shy. It happens."

"I heard there's just a mirror underneath," said Willow before whispering, "The real Emperor was society all along."

"Maybe he's so handsome people have a hard time focusing on what he says. I get it... I can relate. Luz!" Luz jumped at the sudden call of her name. "You've seen Belos up close. What's he like under... all that?"

She looked up and said, "Oh. I never got a good look."

"I heard he's scarred from wild magic."

Startled at the sound of Amity's voice, Luz jumped and looked behind her. She smiled and said, "Amity.

"Hola, batata," Amity said as she helped Luz up.

She raised an eyebrow and asked, "Did you just call me a sweet potato?"

"Yes! Is that... not a term of endearment? I'm still figuring out this human language book from Gus." Amity held up a cookbook titled, "Mamá Pura's Recipes". Gus gave Luz a thumbs up.

She hugged Amity and said, "Aw! Amity, you're the sweet potato!"

"Mmm," Amity hummed as she hugged her back. She broke the hug and asked, "Uh, so... Did that Titan Blood ever come in handy?"

"Did you finish building the door?" asked Willow.

"Did you visit your mom?" asked Gus. "Does she know about high-fives too?"

Luz thought back to what her mother said.

Promise me. When you come home, you'll stay with me, and you'll never go back to that place.

Mom, it's not you. It never was!
