Luz proceeded to clear out her room. All her Azura books, toys, a tinfoil swan and even a framed drawing of herself holding her first baby tooth to Azura. Then she stuffed them all into a cardboard box. "Ah, much better." She stopped to look at a mirror and smiled. "Hmm." Then she picked up the box and walked outside to see her mother stepping out of her car.

"What's the box for, mija?"

"Just... cleaning up a little."

Mrs. Noceda picked up the tinfoil swan. "Even this? You used to love making me tinfoil swans!"

"Oh, I'm uh... just looking for a fresh start!" Mrs. Noceda watched with concern as Luz placed the box next to the trash can. "Camp taught me a lot, you know?"

Maybe too much, Mrs. Noceda thought. She wanted her daughter to stop being so eccentric and prepare for the real world, not abandon everything that made Luz... well, Luz. "Yes, it sure did..."

Suddenly, a loud squeaking sound caught their attention. They followed the sound until they came across the source: a rabbit caught in a trap. "Ah! Luz, grab the pliers!" While Luz ran to get what she needed, Mrs. Noceda put on a pair of rubber gloves. She freed the rabbit, cooing to it, "Okay okay, little bunny, you're gonna be alright." She freed the rabbit in no time. "There we go!"

"That's the fifth trap this week!" Luz exclaimed.

"If I ever catches who's responsible and then I'll PA-POW!" Luz giggled at her mother. "Let's go back inside. I will make maduros."

Luz returned to her room to take out a new shirt. She smiled as she looked into the mirror. "A new life."

Suddenly, the reflection changed and pointed right at her. "YOU!"

Hold on. Several minutes earlier...

Luz had finished constructing her makeshift portal made from Eda's junk. "So, according to Philip's instructions, the hardest part to making a portal was finding someone who knew how to build it. But a lot of the ingredients are pretty easy to find. Your crazy apocalypse supplies finally came in handy dad and Eda!"

"Don't forget this," King said sadly as he handed Amity's Titan blood-stained glove.

"Titan blood. I can't believe something this powerful was in the old key this whole time." Luz looked at the Owl House family, all of them wearing sad looks on their faces. "It's okay. If Belos is still trying to get to the human realm, he'll have to beat me to it!"

"Are you sure this isn't gonna like, blow our faces off?" Eda asked as she sat on a bathtub that acted as the portal's generator.

"Nope!" said Luz.

"You scare me, Luzer," said king.

"Don't call me Luzer."

"Well, here goes something," said Eda as she began peddling. The rotors started transferring kinetic energy to the various components of the door. Luz looked at the door in amazement. Everything then merged together to form a crooked portal door. The door opened, revealing not the human realm but a separate, surreal dimension.

"It worked!" she exclaimed.

"I don't know," said Oswald. "It looks very different from our original door."

"I can't believe you're letting your only daughter go?" Alicent sighs.

"Yeah. But this is my one chance to see my adopted mom," said Luz as she put on her cloak and tied a rope around her waist. "If it looks like it's closing, pull!"
