Lmao it's so funny that apple blood is just... regular juice. All the jokes about how it's alcohol and Eda gets drunk on it have suddenly aged really badly...Also, omg Raine introduced Apple Blood to her and it became her favorite drink like... omg my heart

Outside the Owl House, Luz, her echo mouse, Oswald and King were trying new glyph combinations. The first one was of a small whirlwind, the second one was a water fountain, and the third one was a petrification glyph that turned the toy on top of it into stone. Luz finished drawing a fourth glyph. "Alright, maybe it's this one!"

She activated the glyph, and a monstrous claw sprouted from it. Luz, upon seeing it, screamed in surprise and backed up.

Oswald pulled out a fire glyph blasted it into goo. "That was.. definitely not the one."

She put a big "NO!" in her notebook along with the other failed glyphs.

"What's going on out here?" asked Eda as she burst out the door. She looked down and saw the petrification glyph as the petrified toy began to crumble to dust. The memory of her near petrification came back and she shuddered. "Ugh. What are you doing out here?"

"I started going through Philip Wittebane's diary again. Since my trip with Lilith, I found out that a lot of his margin doodles were actually unfinished glyph combos." Luz explained before she sighed and looked down dejectedly. "I thought maybe they could help with the portal door but..." The goo that was once a claw got eaten by Hooty. "...no luck."

"Maybe it's for the best. I don't like that you're still thinking about that creep," said Eda.

"Especially considering he almost STRANGLED me," said king as he rubbed his throat. "And tried to sacrifice Aunt Lily."

"I know," Luz said as she put on her hood and curled into a ball. "I just miss my mom."

"She's been like this for a while," said king to his mother as he patted her head. "I don't know what to do."

Eda sighed and sat on a nearby stump. "Let's take a break, huh?" Luz didn't respond. "Maybe... I could tell you... a story?"

Luz immediately got up and sat in front of Eda. "Like a backstory kind of story?"

Eda made an exasperated sigh and said, "Yes." The kids, King, Hooty and the echo mouse sat in a circle around Eda. "This is the story of how I met the coolest, baddest, kick-buttiest witch of all time. Raine Whispers."

"Our beginning story of our old pal raine?" Oswald asked.

Let's rewind the clock back to Eda's teenage years. Before the curse. Before Lilith made that one stupid mistake. Back when they were just two stupid and brilliant kids in the Potions track at Hexside.

"Okay. Titan's five humors," Eda said, looking at her flash cards as she kicked a ball down the street.

Lilith tried to remember. "Hmm... Earth, bone, blood, bile and, uh... Ah, I always forget the last one! It's on the tip of my tongue, it's..."

"It's-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s..." Eda hissed.

"Uh, snakes?"

"BREATH!"

"Eda, you have smilk breath. Gross!" Still, Lilith couldn't help but laugh. "Give me one more question."

"Alright, alright. On Scaburary 40th, the day Belos declared the Isles an empire..." Eda paused to kick the ball toward Lilith. "Think fast!"
