_-_-_The Next Morning_-_-_

Sapnap P.O.V

My anxiety slowly rose as I walked up the castle steps and through the grands doors. I had a rough night and was expecting repercussions for my actions at the ball, but as I entered the castle it seemed like everything was fine: no guards seized me the moment I stepped in, so that was a good sign. I still felt a little uneasy, but I knew that metal work was just what I needed to distract myself and put that night behind me. I walked down to the Forge and started gathering tools for the sword before going back to my station to get to work.

-time skip-

I think I finally had a true edge, or I better after all the time I spent at the sharpener. I could now begin to work on the handle, which was so detailed that I dreaded etching it all in. I was wrapping up the blade to keep it safe when I was suddenly interrupted by a feeling that someone was standing behind me. I turned and was started to see wilbur standing at my back

"OOHH shit dude, what the hell" I said startled

"Sorry.....hey can I ask you something?" he asked timid

"Uh...sure, what?" he has never acted like this before. Maybe something was bothering him?

"That-that ball you went to, over in Las Nevadas..how was it?" he asked

"It was fine I guess, kind of what you would expect...wait....how did you know I went to that?" I only told techno that I was offered the position of guard for that ball...I never told wilbur

"Word gets around quick here. You didn't see any...suspicious activity, did you?" he asked, almost like he feared the answer

"Huh? No..I mean there was this prince who was coming onto karl, but that was pretty much it. Why?" I was taken aback by the sudden interrogation

"I heard that Queen puffy was trying to make a deal with the King of Las Nevadas, is that right?"

"Oh yeah, but I wasn't a part of-"

"Did that work out? You know, was the Queen in a good mood that night?" he asked, looking around a little

"I mean, she was upset with karl, but..." I didn't actually know, after that whole ordeal with quackity I haven't seen her---

"SAPNAP HALO" boomed the voice

I turned to see a large guard standing by the entrance wearing a full suit of armor. Next to him at half his height stood what I assumed to be an attendant. They were both eyeballing me. The booming voice of the guard had silenced all conversation in the forge...and all that awkward silent attention fell on to me.

"Your presence is requested by the queen...at once" the attendant spoke in a softer voice, but turned stern at the end.

Wilbur looked at me, then quickly scurried away. My feet weighted a ton and I could feel my anxiety rising as I slowly walked to and followed them out of the forge. We went down winding hallways, stopping outside of an indeterminate door. The smaller attendant opened it and I walked in. The room was a study of sorts: it had bookshelves filled with books on either wall, a vanity in the back right corner, and a large gilded desk in the center backed by a wall of stained glass windows. Puffy sat signing papers her desk, seemingly unaware of my presence. It wasn't until the attendant practically slammed the door behind me that she stopped writing, but didn't look up. My heart rate spiked from the surprise of the door, but was sustained for minutes as nothing but silence passed between us.
