The nations were silent. They wouldn't have thought anything like that would've happened to them, and it hurt the ones closest to the two the most. Nobody was able to form any words in reaction to that since this just proves the nations wrong about, "if your young, you can't have hard times" and, from what they could get, had to be the worst thing to happen to them, from their knowledge.

Some nations just started to leave, knowing a break was going to be called, and they, frankly, didn't want to stay in there. Sure enough, a silent pause on the watching was called, to which many fled the room quickly. They soon started to distract themselves with things, wanting to get the images of the twins from that time out of their heads, but that would be a difficult challenge to accomplish.

After 30~ minutes did they finally get the images out, with all having tried convincing themselves that it was only in the past and didn't bother them at this point, since it's been a lot time since then, they surely would've gotten over it at this point.

The nations took more time off to themselves, and by the time it was to get back together to continue, a few hours had passed, some got sleep, while others just chilled out. When they were ready to continue, the twins at this point had woken back up, although they were asleep for much longer then the break, but the time for them was slowed to keep a relatively similar rhythm across the two voids. The two had constant flashbacks to that time (which they were holding down and pushing away for so long, and had been doing pretty well with), but that just brought everything back, along with the pains from that time.

Whenever one was starting to panic, however, the other would cling more onto them, as a way of comfort and protection, which would work relatively well, though it never really stopped the event being played over and over.

When finally awake, the two looked towards the door anxiously. They couldn't remember what happened next - most likely from them pushing the memory away for so long -, or they have just forgotten, and the two hoped the first option wouldn't be true, since then it would mean something really bad must've happened. America soon stood up, even though he was still having these 'past pains', and helped Canada up, as they walked over and through, staying close to one another, fearing silently what would come. The memory soon started, and the two clung more onto each other, silently hoping it wouldn't be as bad.

In the house, Matthew was found downstairs, doing nothing of much importance, though America wasn't found anywhere in the image. The Canadian soon glanced up and around, frowning as he looked towards the staircase. He stood up from the couch, going up the stairs and to a room, knocking on it quietly, seeming overall conflicted. After a few moments, the door swung open, startling the Canadian, but behind the door was the missing twin.

"Oh! Hey Mattie! Whatcha need?" He asked cheerfully, as said colony looked to the side. "I... Uh... Was just wanting to check on you since... You've been in there all day..." He mumbled, as America let his head fall to the side before smiling a bit, chuckling. "Well, I'm alright. Just... Thinking about some things is all.." He said, his smile falling slightly but he fixed it quickly.

Matthew nodded, facing him again. "Oh.. well... Okay then... You should come down more often though, it's... I just want to make sure everything's alright... Especially after..." He trailed off, looking down in shame. America's smile fell at his words, though shook off this feeling quickly, smiling softly at the latter. He patted Matthew's head, feeling the other relax slightly from this action.

"You really don't have to worry for me... I'll be fine... And, you seem tired..." He said quietly, still playing with his hair, which made Canada hum quietly, and he just fell onto America, hugging his legs and closing his eyes, which made America's smile turn into a small smirk. "I really do think you should get some sleep, yeah? I mean.. it won't hurt..." He purred, picking Matthew up, holding him close but continued messing with his hair, pushing the Canadian closer and closer to sleep.
