Chapter 6

I spent some time alone with the Tesseract, sneaking in it a couple of things, like a tracking spell.

Then with one call to Fury, he sent a jet to get me to him. Thankfully, I wasn't handled like a prisoner this time because I told him that I wanted to discuss his deal.

"I can take it from here Agents" Fury says as he meets me in the hallway and the Agents escorting me walk away
"I'm listening Miss Steel" he says as we walk

"I think we should go somewhere more private" I say and he gets me in a conference room.

"On the phone you said that you want to talk about my deal" he says

"Yes. I will bring you the Tesseract and Loki, but I want protection from the SHIELD from now on" I explain

"My deal was for the Tesseract and Loki. What extra am I gonna get in return for protection?" he asks

"Something tells me that you already have something in mind" I answer, noticing that he is skeptical

"I want your powers" he says

"Pardon me?" I ask with a chuckle

"I want you in the team in case of a disaster, kinda like this" he answers

"Team, like the Avengers?" I ask shocked

"Yes" he answers

"And they won't have a problem with my background?" I ask

"They don't need to know" he says.

I look at him and I smile
"Hm... I'm now wondering what other things you are hiding from your team..." I say.

"Do we have a deal or do I need to arrest you, again?" he asks

"Deal" I say

"Good. Welcome to the team Agent Steel" he says as he shakes my hand.

"Now, if you'd like to join our research for Loki and the Tesseract--" he says

"Actually, I've already taken care of that" I say, interrupting him

"What?" he asks

I hold my hand up and the Tesseract appears in my hand. I let it on the table in front of us.
"Loki is unconscious at the Stark Tower, on the floor with the big 'STARK' sign in front of it. You should hurry though, because he could wake up any second now" I say

"I knew I liked you. Come with me" he says and takes the Tesseract.

I follow him to the round table where some of the Avengers were waiting. Right behind us, came the rest of them and everyone besides me and Fury sat down.

"We don't have much time so I'll make it quick. This is Katelyn Steel, she is a witch and the newest member of the team. You can meet and talk later" he says

"Wait" Thor says, taking everyone's attention

"Oh, crap..." I sign

"I know you. You st--" he was saying but Fury cut him off

"We don't have time for that. She just brought me the Tesseract and Loki's location. We don't have much time so everyone except Steel, suit up and head to the Stark Tower" he orders.

Everyone leaves to get ready and I stay with Fury.
"Let me guess, I'm your interrogation strategy?" I ask

"Exactly" he answers and I nod.

I heard that they brought him in quickly but I also heard something about Hulk smashing him so I'm disappointed that I didn't get to watch that.

I was still sitting at the round table, alone when Black Widow walked in.
