"Fiore." I froze. After four months, he's here.

"Karrion." I said...weirdly. He had this look on his face but I wasn't sharing his energy.

"You look good...amazing actually. I'm sorry about your friend."

"Thank you." I moved out the way so I could continue going to the main hall but when I turned, he grabbed my arm. It wasn't a strong grip but I had already been injured by Leo so I winced slightly when the pressure from his grip met my already bruised arm.

"Are you ok?" His eyes had dimmed. He no longer had a smile on his face. Instead, worry was plastered all over it. I contemplated for a while but I regained myself. I pulled my arm away and turned.

"Why do you care?"

"Sophie, what's going on? You don't seem fine to me. Wait, did he hurt you?"

"Stay away from me. You weren't there when I needed you so don't try to be here now." I immediately left because I couldn't deal with any of this. I was having an actual mental break down and no one was getting it! Thinking of how perfect my life was before I met Karrion. Before I started sleeping with Leo. Before I joined The Organisation. Before dad died and before mom left. I was happy. It was just me and my parents in our perfect home but look at me now. Realising that sooner or later, Leo would come looking for me, I quickly pulled myself together and went back to the party.

**********Karrion's POV*********
I was shocked to see her here! It's been months since I last saw her and while I would love to say that she looks amazing, she doesn't. She had lost weight, she had eye bags, I could see some bruising on the parts of her skin that was left open even though she tried to cover it up with makeup. She just wasn't the person I spent weeks with in Russia. She seemed like she had lost all her will to live and that's just not the Sophie I know. And what in God's name is she talking about?! She was the one who left me! I needed someone to talk to and the only person who was there was Sion. Unfortunately, when I opened the door to his hotel room in the same building, he was... preoccupied with a lady.

"Shit! Can't you knock?!" He said as he saw me. The lady quickly grabbed the covers and used it to cover herself. She was sweaty and flustered. And why was she looking at me with fear? I'm not that scary!

"Who said I didn't?" He shrugged as he got out of bed and started putting his clothes back on.

"Fine. What do you want?"

"We need to talk." Why is she still here? "Alone." And she was still seated there! Is she daft or something?

"Oh..lady..meet my friend, anonymous." Sion said laughing. I would normally return his rude humour but not today.

"My name is El.."

"We don't care. Get out." She was literally shooting daggers at me with her eyes but oh well. "I said get out!" She grabbed her things and stumbled out of the room.

"That was mean. A bit meaner than usual. Who got you upset so early into the ball?"

"Sophie." He seemed surprised but with his back to me, I wasn't sure what was going through his mind. But by the time he turned to me, he had a smile on his face.

"Sophie huh? How did that go?"

"Not well. She's not good! She's hurting and she's bruised, mentally, emotionally and physically but I don't know why! And that Leonardo guy is probably the reason for all that but what I don't understand is why she's mad at me! Why didn't she reach out to me for help?! I would've..."

"Stop!" He gulped down a glass of Scotch and then offered me one.

"I don't need alcohol."

"Oh believe me, you do." He extended the glass to me again and I took it. The warm liquid gave me this warmth and resolve. "You're going to be mad at me, you'll be very angry and you'll probably hate me but my intentions were good."
