It had been a few weeks since Karrion saved me from Leo and I was finally getting the old me back. He told me that I was free to go back to work and all but I decided to work from home instead. Home meant his place. He moved me to an apartment where he could keep an eye on me at all times but I didn't mind. His apartment had the best view of Venice. Plus, he gave me his undivided attention at all times. He was always around and while that would usually give us time to...you know...I haven't been able to rid myself of the sexual trauma Leo caused. Because of that, I haven't been engaging in those activities with Karrion. Funny enough, he has been nothing but patient.

"Karrion, I'm fine. Please go to work."

"No. What if something happens while I'm away?"

"I'll call the security, they're right outside."

"What if they're already dead?"

"Then I'll call you. I'm also very trained."

"I would much rather be here." He got up and walked towards the room. I followed behind him like a puppy. He was walking around in nothing but joggers and while I loved the view, I preferred the hot businessman in a suit!

"Karrion seriously. You need to stop babysitting me." He turned and stopped in the dark hallway.

"I didn't realise that my presence bothered you so much. I thought I was doing a good job staying out of your way."

"Your presence doesn't bother me. It's just that every time we've been together, we spent all out time under the sheets. But now, I don't know how to relate with you outside of that. We have nothing to say or do to each other. Plus, even when you're here, you're still working." He sighed and placed his hand on both sides of his waist.

"So what do you want?"

"I want to have you around but I need to feel like I'm here with a friend and not a bodyguard." He grabbed me to him and I placed both hands on his bare chest.

"So that's what I am to you huh? A friend?"

"I don't know what else to call you."

"Hmmmm. Ok." He let me go and stepped away, all the while, never breaking eye contact. "What do you want to know about me?"

"A lot. But we can't just stand in the hallway and play this game." I walked past him and into the room. He followed me and we got comfortable on the bed. He laid down with his arms crossed and I sat down like an anxious puppy.

"Ok. What do you want to know?"

"A lot. Like, why would your parents give you a name that basically means 'carcass'?"

"I'm not sure. You'd have to ask my parents. Next."

"Ok. What exactly do you do for a living?" He looked at me with a sly smile.

"I would tell you but then I would have to kill you." He was smiling but he wasn't joking. He would actually have to kill me. I knew who he was but what does the head of the Mafia actually do? Kill people? Tell others to kill? Traffic drugs? What exactly?!

"Karrion..."

"Ok. I'll say this though, I am the Godfather. That's as much as I can say without having to do away with you."

"Fair enough. Would you kill me if you ever found out that I've been playing you?" His countenance stayed the same. He didn't let anything show.

"Hmmm. I would be mad and very disappointed. I would wonder who sent you to me. Your fate would depend on the answer to that question."

"Let's say your brother did." Then came the change. But he wasn't angry, he was smiling. He came closer and held my face in his calloused hands.

"Then enjoy the afterlife." He gave me a light kiss before returning to his former position. Somehow, his violent words were turning me on. I could feel an ache for him in my core but I knew the physical pain that came with giving into that desire. Karrion is not the most easy going lover and I'm honestly not ready for the pain his not-so-little friend will cause me.
