CHAPTER 19

ALEXANDRÍA GIOVANNA

That was two years ago and Gianna is already a two years old. I am smiling ear-to-ear as I watch my father teach Gianna to walk. Nakahawak si Papa sa mga kamay ni Gianna habang naglalakad ng dahan-dahan ang bata sa may damuhan.

"Giovanna, bumalik na sina Juancho from the last mission. Nasa headquarter sila ngayon at kasama na rin nila ang bagong captain," sabi ni Chandra sa akin nung makalapit ito. Tumayo ako mula sa kinauupuan ko saka sumulyap sa dereksyon nina Papa at Gianna.

"Magpapaalam lang ako," sabi ko kaya tumango siya sa akin. Tumakbo ako palapit sa kanila. "Papa, pupunta kami ni Chandra sa headquarter," saad ko at tumingin sa batang maliit na nakatingala sa akin ngayon. I kneel down so I can level to her.

"Anak, may pupuntahan lang si Mommy babalik din ako," sabi ko sa kaniya at tumango-tango siya kaya kinuha ko siya saka yinakap para pugpugin ng halik at higpitan ang yakap. I've joined the team six months ago and Papa is not sending me far places because of Gianna.

Juancho and the team just got home from Italy. I bet they carry the new firearms that we ordered from our trusted manufacturer. Also, they have to deal some issues regarding in our mafia clan in Italy. Papa can't go home because of the company.

I am driving my own car and Chandra is driving her own car too. Just in case something might happen from one of us then we can easily escape.  My phone is ringing so I look from the caller and its the ex-fling I met last week in the bar.

Pinaikot ko muna ang mga mata ko at saka ko sinagot.

"Hey, Giovanna! I've been calling you for so many times,"

"I don't think it's my obligation to answer all your phone calls unless it's important," I said coldly and my eyes are on the road.

"I just want to ask you for a dinner date," he said with his voice pleading but I shook my head.

"No. Ciao," I said and ended the call when the red light stops I blocked his number from my phone. He is clingy, I don't like clingy guys.

I drove fast when I saw no other cars aside from us driving on the road we are heading to. This is a private property owns by our family. It may seem harmless but has lots of security cameras so we can monitor who is going in and out here.

I saw the tenth floors building, the huge gate automatically opens when it recognizes our cars. Papa invested too much on security and technologies that is explains why this building surrounded by high and powered technologies.

I park the car and Juancho is standing at the entrance of the building. Lumabas ako sa aking sasakyan saka inayos ang suot ko. I am wearing a black shirt tucked in highwaist black trouser and paired with white sneakers. Nakalugay ang itim na itim kong mahabang buhok ngayon.

"What's up?" I asked him. "Pasok na tayo sa loob," aya niya sa amin ni Chandra. May nakita akong isang bowl na puno ng mga lollipops sa may lobby kaya dumukot ang dalawa. "Free ba ito?" tanong ko sa kaniya pero umikot lang mata ni Juancho.

Binalatan ko ang isa saka isinubo ito at hawak-hawak ko pa ang stick. "Nice to see you here again, Giovanna," bati sa akin nung isa sa mga seniors dito. "Hindi ka pa rin nagbabago, Giovanna. You still love lollipops," sabi niya kaya ngumiti naman ako. "This is my addiction," I said to him and he nodded while smiling.

We are walking on the hallway and some people who are working here are looking at us. "They rarely see you here kaya hindi pa sila masyadong sanay sa iyo, Giovanna," Juancho and explained and I nodded.

"Balita ko nandito na iyong bagong captain ng team alpha?" I asked him and he nodded. "Sino naman?" I asked again. "Malalaman mo rin at sana kapag nakilala mo ay maging okay lang sayo," sabi niya so my forehead creased.
