ever since his beloved 'friend' lost their memory due to an 'accident', ran was in fact affected deeply. his days doesn't feel as bright anymore, and he doesn't found any excitement in going outside of his own house beside fighting.

being used to having y/n around him, of course them losing their memory out of the blue affects his daily life lots. 

"ran, that's enough." rindou shortly said before snatching ran's baton out of his grip, scared that the delinquents they had beaten up would die from blood loss.

as much as ran wanted to be mad at rindou, it's his own brother afterall, he couldn't be mad at him.

he sighed as he went home and washed up, making sure there's no smell of blood on him and put on some of his favourite perfume ever since he met you. you had always thought he smell really good, and so he promised to always use that perfume.

"going to y/n's house again?" rindou asked.

"yeah, take care of the house while i'm out." ran greeted as he left.

rindou rolled his eyes; locking the door after.

you heard your door ringing, you got up and opened the door, showing your favourite person ever, haitani ran. you observed the figure, as he got inside your eyes. 

the second you see him you knew he was fighting again but you kept quite about it. you walked to the living room as you looked for some bandages before applying them on ran's cut on his hand that even him could barely notice it.

"you never change huh? you always notice the little things." he chuckled as he pats your head before planting a kiss on your forehead.

"ran! i haven't showered." you mumbled.

"you still look pretty either way. should we go to your room? i have some of our old pictures together and maybe you'd remember.." he said with a smile, though no matter how much he hides it, you still find those sadness in his eyes that he couldn't hide.

"okay! we could binge some tv shows too later on." you said as you grabbed his wrist and dragged him to your room.

you closed the door after both of you entered your room and turned on the air conditioner before taking a seat on top of your bed.

"okay, so where's this photo you're talking about?" you asked in a soft tone.

ah, he would never be bored of hearing how pretty your voice is. he could even set them as his ringtone but he doesn't wanna be seen as a 'weirdo'

"i got them saved on my camera roll. this one were the one where we were in junior high." he smiled as he showed a picture of you and him wearing your tracksuit.

"ah! i remember, you accidentally hit the teacher with the ball and his wig flew off!" you said as you laughed, while ran was just sitting there, making sure he wasn't hearing it wrong.

"you.. remembered?" he said, making sure.

"yeah! of course, i mean, why would i forget every little moment with yo-" you stopped talking, once you realise you just spilled your secret out.

yes, you didn't really lose your memory nor you got into an accident- you pretended all this time because you were too embarrassed to face him after wanting to confess to him, but before you could, you literally slipped off a rock and fell in FRONT of him.

out of embarrassment, you just ran away from his sight and pretended that you lost your memory since you knew things would be so awkward, you even convinced rindou to tell ran that you lost your memory.

"so you've been PRETENDING this whole time?" he said in disbelief.

you bit your lower lip as you scratched your hair, totally scared by how he feels after.

"i'm sorry. i was-"

you were cut off, by a warm embrace by the braided guy wrapping his arm around you. he felt like the heavy burden in his heart just got carried away instantly.

you hugged him back as he snuggles his head to your neck while you gently strokes his hair.

"don't be. i'm just beyond happy to know you're okay now. and you even managed to convince rindou about this."

"sorry. i don't wanna talk to this because this is really dumb but the day i fell in front of you was so embarrassing for me that I had to do this." you smiled.

"pfft- dumb? i think you still look cute." he chuckled as he got up, his arm still around you. "and what do you wanna talk about anyway?"

"it's nothing important, i was about to tell you how much i liked you but i figured it'd just make things around us more awkward than ever." you 

"i've been waiting SO MUCH for this. i like you too, idiot. you should've confessed earlier and we could've went on so many dates!"

"well how should i know you'd like me back?!"

"well i do! get ready and let's go on a date!"

"now?!"

"yea, now! let's go! i've been waiting for this my whole life so what are you waiting for?"
