Everything had been a blur.

Minho calling an ambulance,
Minho getting the hospital bag
and his own jacket,
Minho holding Jisung's hand
as they waited for the paramedics
to arrive.

The older cradled the boy
close to his chest, holding him
tight and Jisung had just cried
so loudly, he had been in so
much pain.

"I'm here shhh, breathe sweetie.
They're here soon, they'll
make the pain go away.
I promise, it's gonna be okay"

Minho whispered with tears
in his eyes but the younger only
squeezed his hand as he cried out,
the sound of his water breaking
and leaving a puddle on the floor
interrupting him for a moment.

"Shit shit, this isn't good...
Why are they taking so long?!"

Jisung's face was getting paler
every minute and Minho definitely
didn't like how the younger's body
also got more and more limb in
his arms.

"Come on Sungie,
stay awake for me please.
They're almost here,
I think I can hear the sirens."

But the boy just looked up
at him with half closed eyes,
tears rolling down his
chubby cheeks.

"I-It hurts.."

"I know, I know Sungie.
They'll give you something,
you're going to be alright, hm?"

The ride to the hospital was pure
horror for both Jisung and Minho.

The younger was in a constant
battle with his consciousness,
passing out every now and then
but waking up just to scream in
pure terror when another pain
set his whole body on fire.

And Minho could only hold his hand,
he wasn't allowed to stroke the
boy'shead in case he'd mess
the oxygen mask up.

He himself hadn't noticed his tears,
it was tearing his heart apart
seeing the boy in so much
pain and so scared.

The paramedics hadn't given him
any painkillers because of the baby,
any wrong dosis could kill the
unborn at this point.

It wasn't clear if Jisung had
any internal bleeding from the
fall and the ambulance just
didn't have the medical
devices to check up on
the baby.

Nobody said it but it wasn't even
sure that the small child was
still alive.

There hadn't been any fetal
movements since so the boy
going into labor could also
mean that his body miscarried.

But as long as no one knew
something specific, there wasn't
a necessity for terrifying the boy
even further.

Once they finally reached
the hospital, they brought
him immediately to the
maternity ward so an expert
could check up on the baby
and decide on the further steps.

It wasn't Dr Yoo,
it was a stranger and there
were other doctors and
nurses waiting in the room,
already alarmed from the
call from the paramedics
and prepared for all the
worst cases.

And Jisung was so scared.

So many people were watching him,
looking at him while he was in pain.

But no one helped him.

No one took the pain away.

Minho was the only one right
beside him, holding his hand
and whispering calming words
into his ear in hope that the
younger could forget everything
around him for a second.

He was there like he had promised.

He tied the boy's sweaty hair
into a little ponytail so it wasn't
sticking to his forehead anymore.

He wiped his sweat and those
crystal tears away and kissed
his forehead softly.

He made sure that Jisung
drank something so he
wouldn't dehydrate.

He was the one taking care of
the boy who suffered so much,
who looked like he was dying
while the doctors just stood there.

They stood there,
talked and did nothing.
