"Have you checked the bathroom
too if you didn't leave something
there accidentally?"

The younger nodded
absent-mindedly,
his gaze fixed on the
colorful trees outside in
the hospital garden.

Autumn was such a beautiful
season in Jisung's opinion,
so many warm colors, red,
yellow, orange and especially
these days with a blue sky
were the best to take long walks,
the contrast was just so beautiful.

It's been two days since
tiny Aera came to the world
and today the boy was finally
allowed to go home with his baby.

He couldn't stand the hospital
food any longer, all the time he
had practically lived only from
the small treats Minho had
brought him.

The older's food was just too good,
maybe he was a bit spoiled now.

At least that's what Minho kept
telling himself as the reason
why Jisung was barely eating.

He was just picking at his food,
nibbling the sandwiches slowly
the older brought him but the
latter wasn't dumb, he had noticed
how the boy sometimes left to go
to the bathroom afterwards.

To throw up his food.

But as long as Minho didn't
know if Jisung was actually
doing it on purpose,
he'd keep on making the
boy meals and hope he'd
eat everything.

He needed it,
he had to produce enough
milk for his baby after all.

Minho's gaze wandered around
in the clean hospital room until
it settled on tiny Aera who was
sleeping peacefully in her
baby car seat.

She was wearing a caramel-colored
onesie with a little acorn
embroidered on it, matching
her hat that had all kinds of
autumn leaves printed on it.

She was an autumn baby after all,
born on the 3rd of September.

It was so cute to watch how she
always fumbled subconsciously
with her tiny fingers when she
was deep asleep, as if she was
counting something.

"Okay then, let's go home.
There's an apple pie waiting for us"

Minho smiled in hope to excite
the younger but it was obvious
that the small smile Jisung gave
him was forced.

It didn't reach his eyes,
they were so empty.

The ravenette frowned when
he watched the younger stand
up on shaky legs but instead of
asking for help, he just walked
straight to his luggage.

And took his bag and left without
sparing his daughter a glance.

Minho couldn't really understand
his behavior, sometimes he'd
see Jisung smile at his little girl
when he was feeding her but
besides that he just simply ignored
her existence completely.

He felt sorry for the small child,
she deserved some cuddles and soft
kisses on her adorable chubby cheeks.

She deserved to feel loved.

"Let's bring you home,
little sweetheart."

Meanwhile Jisung had already
found Minho's car in the parking
area and was leaning against it,
waiting for the older.

It was relatively chilly outside,
the temperatures had dropped
surprisingly fast for the beginning
of September and for a short moment
the thought of Aera might feeling
cold crossed his mind.

Maybe he should get the
blanket out of his bag to cover her,
he didn't want her to get sick.

But before he was even able to move,
Minho was already beside him and
opening the car door to put the
baby car seat inside, making
sure it was fastened.

He wordlessly sat on the driver's seat,
checking with a last glance at Aera
if she was still sleeping and waited
for Jisung to enter the car as well.

And just like this they
made their way back home,
no words spoken, maybe because
they didn't want to disturb the
little girl's sleep or maybe
because there wasn't anything
that needed to be said.

Minho didn't know.
