The halo of the horizon was falling with the morning golden rays in the Das Baadi which was engulfed with tranquility. Chandrachur was seated with both the palms and fingers intertwined with each other and his beard chin resting on it lost in thoughts about the property papers that he handed over to Bondita along with the important papers required for the business establishment. But why did she ask for the Das family's entire property papers? Although instead of giving the original one, he just gave its mimographed copy but still couldn't decipher her intention for asking him to get them.
(If you've missed this part, read chapter 16, the part where CC went to hand over some papers to Bondita)
His thoughts came to a halt when Thakuma's scream echoed from the hallways "Kaha gayi wo?" He quickly got up and went towards her. Reaching there he saw her yelling on the maid Kamala who was given the duty to look after an unwell Sumati. "Kya hua Thakuma, sab theek hai na?" He asked. "Sumati Bahu poori haveli mein kahi nahi mil rahi. Na jaane kaha chali gayi iss haalat mein" Thakuma said breathlessly. Chandrachur gave out a sigh and said "Ghabrayiye mat Thakuma, kahi bahaar gayi hogi. Kitne maheeno se wo ghar mein hi hai. Aur waise bhi ab unki tabyat pehle se behtar hai na."
Thakuma nodded her head and said "Baat wo nahi hai Jamai babu, main toh khud chahti thi ki wo ghar se baahar jaay, khuli hawaa mein saans le toh behetar mehsoos karegi. Par agar ussey kahi se bhi Bondita aur uske badle roop ke baare mein pata chal gaya na, toh wo shaayad ye cheeze bardaash na kar paay aur uski tabyat aur bigad jaay."
Throughout the ride from the sports shop, his mind was filled with the moment of encounter with Ahaana Aas. He didn't know why but her presence gave him the vibes of someone known. As if he wasn't meeting her for the first time. His ride came to halt when suddenly group of goats along with the shepherd came in between. He waited for a while to let them cross the road. While waiting his sight went towards the huge mansion in the right.
It was the left side of Fernsby mansion where he was apparently halted. He remembered the first time he came here for the party and how he met his Bondita... no, Mrs. Suzie Fernsby after 6 months. He sighed remembering that eventful day when suddenly he saw a slender feminine figure from the window which was facing the road, wearing a yellow floral dress, her black hair touching the shoulder, sitting on a stool working on something, her back facing towards him.
Who else it would be other than Bondita. Because as far as he knew, she was the only female in the mansion. He let out a small chuckle thinking that earlier also she was married in the house full of men, until Sampoorna came, and now again she is married in a house full of men. But he felt something strange. Her slender arms which were visible being exposed, had a much fair skin tone, like Britishers, but Bondita's skin tone had a dusky glowing complextion unlike the one he's witnessing now. He wore back his specs only to look towards her again.
His eyebrows creased in confusion. Isn't this Bondita? Who else would be there apart from her. "Barrister Babu." He came out of his thoughts when the shepherd called him "aap ab araam se jaa sakte hai, raasta saaf hai." to which Anirudh just nodded not being able to fully get out of the thoughts.
