Holiday Preparations (Nadia X reader)

It was a few weeks until the holidays arrived in Vesuvia and already were people in a whirl to decorate. People all over Vesuvia celebrated different holidays at different times, but still you could smell the different scents of holiday treats and could see market sellers bringing out different products for possible gift ideas.

However as the lover of countess Nadia, there was a lot of work to be done at the palace for the holidays, and you didn't want her to go through it alone. She didn't seem stressed about it yet, but there was certainly a lot to do.

Though one night when you were already asleep, you heard a loud crash from the floor downstairs since you an Nadia shared a room upstairs. What in the world was going on?

Rubbing your eyes tiredly, you head down the stairs to hear Nadia cursing to herself. "Damn, stupid box.." you hear her grumble.

Confused on what she was talking about, you gently make your way downstairs and gently peak from behind the castle wall  where you see Nadia working in the living room to decorate. There's already a lot of holiday items out and there she stands right near a bare tree. She's seemingly fiddling with different types of decorations.

"I have no idea what they even celebrate.." she says while she compares them. "I probably should ask them tomorrow."

"Ask me about what?"

Nadia nearly drops the items she had and turns to you, startled. You come out of your hiding place with a tired smile.

"Y/N! I didn't wake you did I?" She asks worriedly.

You chuckle, "Well yes, but honestly I don't mind. Have you been decorating all by yourself?"

"I was only doing a small part to start, I was going to wait for you tomorrow to do the big stuff." She explains, then looks at you with a defeated smile. "I don't even know what you celebrate!" She smiles.

"Well what about if I tell you?" You laugh as you gently kiss her cheek. "don't stress yourself over me."

"Alright love, tell me."

"(Winter holiday you celebrate)"

"Oh how wonderful! You'll have to teach me about it." She beams as she claps her hands together.

(If you don't celebrate anything)

"Oh well, let's just throw it all together and see what mess of decorations we make." She grins.

(Main story continued)

"Anyway, you should go back to bed." She chuckles.

"Oh no, you're not keeping yourself awake longer to put up decorations." You laugh as you take her hand gently. "you're getting some sleep too."

"But Y/N.."

You flash her puppy eyes. "oh alright! Fine!" She laughs.

Going up to bed after organizing, you plop yourself into bed and make room for Nadia. Once you're both in bed and ready to go to sleep, you blow out the candle on the side dresser and the moonlight gently shows off Nadia's features as you look at her.

"Goodnight Nadia." You whisper, noticing she's already drifting off as she lies against the warm pillows. You gently kiss her forehead and swear that tomorrow, she wasn't going to get to work so hard on her own. You'd be there to help her through all the decorating.

After all, family is the many joys of the holidays.
