6. A Promise

It's been a full week since the known bathroom incident with Yoongi. Taehyung couldn't help but to admit that he felt uneasy and very worried about the boy named Min Yoongi. So, after school he made his way towards Yoongi's house.

He stood outside staring at the normal yet peaceful looking apartment building. He made his way up the stairs and found the apartment room he was looking for. He knocked on the door and a middle aged woman wearing rubber gloves opens the door.

"Can I help you?" She said looking Taehyung up and down "Wait aren't you one of the kids that helped my Yoongi?"

"Y-Yes ma'am. I came to c-check on Yoongi. I wanted to make sure he was okay." He then lifted up a bag "Also wanted to give him the homework he missed during the week"

Mrs. Min gave Taehyung a kind smile "Then come right in— oh sorry I was scrubbing the kitchen sink" she said removing her rubber gloves

Taehyung just shakes his head "No it's okay Mrs. Min I understand"

"Thank you... for helping my Yoongi. You and your friends genuinely cared for him last week. I noticed something was off with him...but he never told me that he was...was getting bullied. So thank you for being there for him. It's people like you and your friends that exist that reminds me that the world isn't so bad after all" She said as tears started forming

Taehyung smiles "No thank you Mrs. Min. Without you, I wouldn't be able to meet such a wonderful person like Yoongi. He's... a bit complicated at times, but I know deep down  there's a beautiful butterfly ready to sprout their wings"

Mrs. Min was now full on sobbing "Y-You're so kind my dear. Please go to Yoongi. His room his down the the hallway right behind you"

"A-Are you okay or...?"

"J-Just go dear i'll be okay. Go be with your friend he needs you right now"

Taehyung bowed and made his way down the hall to find Yoongi's bedroom. It was obvious which one was his. It was the only door that had a note that said KEEP OUT in big letters. Taehyung just knocked on the door hoping to get a response.

"Leave me alone" He heard a muffled voice say

"Yoongi-ssi....it's me... Taehyung" He said softly "Let me in please"

There was a brief pause, but then he heard a long drawn no from the other side. Taehyung sighs and scratched his head wondering what to do.

"P-Please let me in. I got you...chocolates and yeah just chocolate. Also, I won't leave from this spot until you open the door. I'll move into your house if I have to!"

After about a minute he heard the door unlock. Taehyung cleared his throat surprised that it worked. He opened the door and entered the dark room. He saw on a full sized bed was Min Yoongi covering himself with his bed comforter and various other blankets surrounding him.

"Wow that looks comfy" Taehyung giggled "Do you mind if  I sit in your bed?"

Yoongi just shakes his head stared at Taehyung with dull eyes. Taehyung couldn't help but  wonder how Yoongi was so quick at unlocking the door and then immediately went back into his comfortable spot on the bed with the blankets over his body.

"How'd you find my home?" is this first thing the smaller asked

"Well I uhh...I volunteered myself to bring you the homework and everything else you missed in class. Our homeroom teacher was going to do it but I wanted to do it instead. So he gave me the address" Taehyung shrugs

Yoongi scoffs "You're relentless you know that? You never listen to me when I say I want to left alone. Can't you and everyone else pretend I don't exist?"

"No, I can't do that Yoongi. No matter what, I'll always stick by your side. You need it. No one deserves to be alone... wallowing in self pain or pity" Taehyung explained and then he grabs Yoongi's hands "I'm here for you no matter what. Like how true friends should be"

Yoongi suddenly felt his heart beat and butterflies forming in his stomach. He quickly pulls his hands away and looked down at his legs to not make his rosy cheeks obvious.

"I'm sorry, did I make you uncomfortable touching you? I didn't mean t—"

"Shut up" Yoongi mumbles

"I-I'm sorry?"

"Shut up Kim Taehyung. Why're you so...so fucking nice to me all the time. UGHH it fucking makes me want to throw up" Yoongi exaggerated but Taehyung knew Yoongi didn't mean it being that the petite male was actually crying

"I actually have a surprise for you. It's from me,  Hoseok, and Jimin. Hold on let me get it" Taehyung said and ran out the room

He picked a basket off from the floor outside of Yoongi's bedroom and presented it to the smaller male. Yoongi looked at Taehyung in surprise. It was a beautiful fruit basket.

"I thought you said you had chocolate"

"Well I didn't want to ruin the surprise so I lied a bit" The taller laughs

Yoongi accepted the basket and looked at it happily. But then his expression fell again which made Taehyung again super concerned once again "W-What's wrong? Are these not your favorite fruits? I can go and get anothe—"

"No it's just... you... you, Hoseok, and Jimin are just doing this because you pity me right? Well don't pity me. I'm not that weak" He mumbles

Taehyung looks at home confused "Pity? Yoongi, me and the others want to be friends with you.  Also it's not pity... you genuinely deserve this"

"We were sad when you didn't show up to school. Jimin wanted to surprise you with a cute lunch box he made at home. Hoseok wanted to invite you out to play at the arcade... I-I wanted to take you on a—"

"Jimin?" Yoongi suddenly laughs interrupting "I remember on the first day....I thought he was one of the students that would also teased me. I remember he was whispering and staring straight at me. I have a bone to pick with him..."

"No way, Jimin wouldn't ever do that— oh wait I actually do remember that day. That was the same day Hoseok was telling me that Jimin kept whispering about how cute you looked"

"What? Your fucking lying" Yoongi crossed his arms

Taehyung laughed "I swear it's the truth! You know I wouldn't lie about that. But yeah... we all want to be your friend Yoongi. Hoseok hates seeing those going through a rough time. That's why he has the leadership role as President of the student body. He lives to see others happy. That's actually why we call him sunshine"

"What's so good about me anyways. I'm just some boy that doesn't want to be seen" Yoongj grumbles under his breath

"Well despite having a bad experience with some bad people, there are others who actually do care you know? Being new in a new environment just makes me want to do nothing but help you. You seem like a cool guy. Even though you keep pushing me away, just know that I also like challenges." Taehyung winks " You're stuck with me no matter what. With all three of us now"

"Well who am I stop you. You won't listen to me anyways at this point"

Taehyung takes Yoongi's hands in his again "Min Yoongi, I promise... we all promise to turn this school year into a happy one for you. We'll stick by your side, no matter what. We will protect you"

Yoongi gulped feeling that nervous feeling in bus stomach again "P-Protect me? that's a bit..."

"No matter what Min Yoongi. I'm here for you"

Yoongi wouldn't admit it out loud. Kim Taehyung's words definitely did break his walls a little. Yoongi wanted to be unseen and unknown. But, the boy with the cute boxy smile made him think otherwise.
