The Crash

Part 20

Weatherbee- Elizabeth, please sit down.

She nodded and sat down in front of all of them, then she became nervous. 

Weatherbee- Alright Ms. Cooper, you obviously know why you're here, I just want to make sure your teachers understand your situation.

Ms. Jacobs scoffed and rolled her eyes, making Mr. Weatherbee glare at her. Then Betty began to speak.

Betty- Um, Ms. Jacobs you know I got a call in class earlier...it was my sister. She is three years old. U-Um, she goes to the daycare center right up the street, so if I get a call from them, I have to answer.

Mr. Williams- Why do they call you?

Ms. Jacobs- Yeah, don't you have parents that are supposed to be taking care of her?

Betty- N-No, they died a few months ago. We were all in a car accident. They died along with my older sister. I was in a coma for a few days and I h-had some leg injuries but Emma, my younger sister, was unharmed. (tears)

Ms. Jacobs- Oh my god, I'm so sorry, I didn't know.

Betty- It's okay...Fp Jones has been taking care of us since he was best friends with my parents. And I know the daycare center should be calling him since he's an adult but Emma's really attached to me since I'm her only care figure in her life. (tears)

Ms. Gray- That makes sense. Are you and your sister doing okay?

Betty- Better than we used to be.

They all nodded and finished their conversation before they left the office. But as Betty was walking to the student lounge, where Jughead was waiting for her, Ms. Jacobs stopped her.

Ms. Jacobs- Ms. Cooper...

Betty- Yes?

Ms. Jacobs- I just wanted to apologize one more time, I am so sorry for how rude I was to you and for everything that happened to your family. No one deserves that.

Betty- It's okay, thank you though.

Ms. Jacobs- Of course, if you ever need anything just let me know.

Betty- I will, thanks again.

She nodded and walked to the student lounge, instantly running to her boyfriend as she saw him.

Jughead- Hey babe, how'd the meeting go?

Betty- It was good, can we go though? I want to get Emma.

Jughead- Yeah, come on.

The two of them walked out of their school together before making their way to the daycare center. And as soon as they arrived Emma was so excited to tell them everything about her new friend. The whole way home she held their hands and told them about the little girl who was just a little bit older than her. Then they got back to their house. They played with Emma for a while while also doing their homework, but then they heard the door open.

Fp- I'm home!

Emma- Fp! Fp! Fp!

Fp- Yes! Yes! Yes!

Emma- Guess what!

Fp- What?!

Emma- I made a friend today!

Fp- Oh my goodness, that's an amazing sweetheart!

Emma- Her name is Izzy and she's just like me!

Fp- Wow, I hope I get to meet her one day.

She nodded while giggling, then she ran back over to Betty and Jughead.

Fp- Hey, Emma, could you go upstairs for a minute so I can talk to mommy and Juggie?

Jughead- Here we go. (whispers)

Emma- Mhm!

The little girl ran upstairs while Betty and Jughead stood up, then they walked over to the couch. Fp walked over and stood in front of them with his arms crossed, they immediately knew that they were in trouble.

Fp- Alright, I know you guys are teenagers and you want to be having sex but you guys need to be careful for two reasons. One, Emma was here. You can't scar that little girl for life. And two, I don't want Betty getting pregnant. She already has enough going on with Emma that she doesn't need to be taking care of another child.

Jughead- Don't worry, we were being quiet and safe.

Fp- Still.

Betty- M-Maybe, I should go on birth control...

Fp- You haven't been on it?

Betty- (shakes her head) That was my first time. (softly)

Fp smiled softly as Jughead wrapped his arms around Betty's stomach, then he spoke again.

Fp- If you want we can get you on birth control.

She nodded and then Emma came running down to her, jumping into her lap.

Emma- Mommy, Mommy!

Betty- Yes?

Emma- Can Izzy come over to play soon?

Betty- Um, sure. Maybe this weekend, I can talk to her mom.

Emma- Yay, thank you!

Emma gave her a quick kiss on the cheek before getting on the floor and paying with her toys again. Then the four of them went to Pops for dinner. They had a nice meal together, Emma stayed attached to Betty the whole time but didn't stop talking about Izzy and the games they had played earlier that day. It was adorable. But then they went back home and Betty got Emma in bed. Once she was asleep she went back downstairs to Jughead and Fp and just watched TV with them for a while...but soon they all went to bed, needing to be reenergized for the upcoming events.
