The trip down to parts and services was interesting to say the least. There was a lot of yelling, fazerblasting, and more than once you nearly tipped Monty over. But eventually, you made it down and got Monty ready to fix. Now you stand outside the protection chamber and a new kind of stress settles inside of you, "this place is creepy," Gregory says exactly what you were thinking.

"No kidding, it looks like a mad scientist lab," you shudder at the giant mechanics. Then you look up at Freddy, "you come here all the time, how do you deal with it?"

"I suppose I have gotten used to it," Freddy responds but even he looks slightly uncomfortable with the situation.

You nod then walk over to the old computer and flick it to life. An automated voice greets you as the screen displays a variety of upgrades available for animatronics, "which one do I pick?"

"Well none of these," Gregory pops up next to you and scrolls past a few more dangerous upgrades to Monty's strength and claws. It's the last thing you'd need. "We could try to set his internal clock for daytime?"

"Eventually it would switch back to night though," you point out and Gregory nods. You both fall silent as you try to think of another solution.

Then you get an idea, "Freddy, what's different about you? Is there any reason you're not affected?" You ask and grab his hand to bring him over to the computer.

"It is hard to tell. When some of my friends were given updates to their competitive nature or other emotions they became more volatile," Freddy leans down to look at the screen as he ponders aloud. You remember how some animatronics tempers could flare even in the day hours, "but that should not cause what has been happening,"

"So then what is?" Gregory asks and looks in at Monty.

"Maybe the better question is who is," you whisper, mostly just wanting to hear how the theory sounded aloud but Freddy gasps.

"You may be onto something! My ability to connect to the front desk and other control centers has been disrupted unlike our friends," Freddy notes, then scrolls down to the very bottom of the list. There's an option for unguided operations. Like that's not intimidating at all, "for security reasons there is not a guide for disconnecting an animatronic from the central communication system,"

"I've never done anything like this," you warn Freddy and he puts a hand on your shoulder.

"I am not allowed in the chamber unless I am being operated on, but I can guide you through it," Freddy says and gives your shoulder a little squeeze.

"I can help too! I'll control the computer!" Gregory offers and types something into the keyboard which opens the doors for you to go in.

"Be very careful, the chamber is not to protect those inside it," Freddy warns, and you put on a brave face. Then you turn to the chamber and roll up your sleeves as you try to get in the zone mentally. Freddy wraps his arms around you from behind in a backwards hug before you can go though, "you can do it superstar,"

"Let's get this thing going!" Gregory calls and waves for you to get to work. Freddy reluctantly let's you go and you head into the chamber. Gregory types again and the doors slide shut, "the machinery inside should be ready to go now!"

"You will need to open the plate on the back of Monty's head first there is a tool to your right to do so," Freddy instructs and Gregory points to an odd looking pry bar tool.

"Don't even think about it!" Monty warns and tries to turn his head but the chair restricts him.

"Sorry buddy," you tell him and grab the tool, situating it by the latch on his back faceplate. You pull back and it springs open, revealing his robotic skeleton.
