A/n: I go back to school tomorrow so updates are going to be slower, but I love writing this so I'll keep working on it! Also can you tell I had fun looking up 1980's glamrock and new romantic fashion lol

You've never seen Sundrop in such a frenzy. A positive one that is. For the past five minutes he's been whipping up a storm of glitter, fabric, ribbons, and other supplies. You can't even tell what he's making when he's moving so fast. He's talking about as fast as he's working too. He must be good at multitasking from dealing with so many kids, "I'll tell you, I've known there were strange things afoot here! Other than me of course. And Moondrop wasn't always angry either!"

It makes sense, why would management commission a mean daycare attendant? But it still shocks you after meeting the current Moondrop, "what happened? When did it change?" You ask as Sundrop makes a grabbing motion for some scissors.

"Moon was one of the sweetest guys I knew. You wouldn't belive it but he loved telling stories and singing lullabies!" Sun laughs fondly as you hand him the scissors. He starts cutting a new color of fabric almost erratically, "then he started getting aggressive at the misbehaving kids. Then it was all the kids, and staff too,"

"Did management do anything?" You ask while passing him a spool of thread.

"They took us in for maintenance, he came out worse," Sundrop answers in his rarely used serious voice while sewing the fabrics together at an inhuman speed. Then he bounces right back to positive, "so I took matters into my own hands and kept the lights on!"

"We'll get the real Moondrop back," you tell him. You may not have a friendship with Moondrop yet but that doesn't mean you're not going to help him.

"Thank you y/n! You always remind me why we're such good friends!" Sundrop takes a pause from his work to give you a quick hug. Then he gets right back to work. While he's busy you send a text to Gregory's fazwatch to let him and Freddy know you're doing well. Then Sundrop leans over, "who are you talking to?"

"Freddy and Gregory. Just keeping them updated!" You respond as a text from Gregory pops up. They've found a series of arcade games that have reports of glitches and other odd occurrences. It might be connected to something.

"Has he stopped breaking so many rules?" Sundrop asks and ties off a knot at the end of a seam, "don't answer that, I already know,"

"It's hard not to break rules tonight," you sigh thinking of all the places you've snuck in and property that's been broken and damaged, "but he's just trying to survive,"

Sundrop makes a pained expression, then sighs, "I guess we have to make exceptions sometimes!" He points one long finger in the air.

"Exactly. I care about that kid and all of you. Otherwise I wouldn't be breaking rules and putting my wellbeing on the line," you look back down at the fazwatch to see Gregory has sent you a picture of an old decommissioned game. Princess quest. You've never heard of it before but if they think it's important you'll trust them.

"You're funny y/n," Sundrop chuckles and you turn to raise an eyebrow at him. That's not the answer you were expecting. He waves a hand in dismissal of your expression and explains, "it's funny given what you said to me earlier tonight,"

"I'm still not following Sundrop," you shake your head.

"You said Gregory isn't your kid, but you sure act like he is!" Sundrop laughs warmly.

"No way! I'm just... trying to help," you search for the right words to describe the situation you've found yourself in, "It's nothing more than that,"

Sundrop smiles knowingly and shakes his head before reaching out to put a large hand on top of yours, "Please y/n, I've seen enough family's in my time working to recognize one when I see it,"
