17 The emotional mess

1917

Jana Bites was a sixteen year old girl when her boyfriend left to war. Now she is nineteen year old young woman. The couple days after that day the enemies did bomb the city and killed her parents... Jana does remember the first war day like it was yesterday, even if it was three years ago. She remembers those words that the prime minister of England said on that day. 'The lights go out of the whole European and they will no long be kindled at our lifetime anymore'. 

Even if things at her life are better than ever today she is afraid of future... What if there are not future at all? She should be happy that she got her boyfriend back year ago. That now they do have their own little family. She worked at field hospital for a year, six months ago they got married because why not when you do not have sure information if the next day will come.

Now six months after she is holding a couple weeks old little baby at her lab. The baby girl is squeezing her fathers finger like to make sure that daddy is not leaving anymore. The little girl was too weak for the few days after birth, because she was born neonatal couple months before as planned. But now couple weeks later she does live the full life with her parents.

Little baby is okay with the bombing alarm voice, because the couple hours after her birth she did hear the voice at the first time, when the fight plane did fly over the hospital. There luckily was not bombs inside of it but by the way the whole hospital was mowed to cellar [evacuating rooms was at there]. 

When Jana did figure out that she was pregnant it was a shock for both Jana and Matei. They did think if it is right bring the baby to world like this. A world that isn't sure if it is a safe place for baby. But after a long thinking they decided to keep the baby and now they are so happy because of decision. They are happy because the baby has healed those emotional and physical scars that both losing their parents so young and war left for them. 

Of course they are so careful with Emily because the war is still on at England. But life is going so well. Now Matei is familiar with his prosthesis leg although it was difficult at the beginning and he needed how to walk again, but Jana and the doctors has helped him.

He is not gonna leave to front anymore. Was about to go but those pregnancy news six years ago changed his mind. He belongs here with his wife and beautiful little baby girl. Matei needs to support Jana with the baby because she was managing by herself for so long time. 

Right now they do want to make the life of their daughter perfect as possible. Even if they both did lose their parents young does not affect at their life much, except mother'and father' days. 

Jana does remember those childhood Christmases extremely well. When the families of Bites and Covaci used to travel and spent those holiday days together. The travelling started when Jana was six year old and after that become their annual Christmas tradition. But that lasted only the following three years, The last year when Jana and Matei traveled to America they were fifteen and sixteen year old... The exact year have got in Jana's mind also because that was the Christmas when Matei asked her to be his girlfriend, of course secretly. 

Their lovestory started five years ago and no matter what it will die with them.
