The smile on my face wouldn't leave. It was a gleeful one for sure. I looked down, waiting for the rules to be explained more or for Midnight to go on more about the festival. As she did, the hero explained that the fights will be decided by drawing lots to make it more fair. We also didn't have to participate in the recreational activities if we didn't want to which would be a nice breather I guess. I mean I liked fighting, not being watched like a lion ready to eats its prey. Midnight pulled out a box with the title "Lots" bolded onto it. We'd only have to hear her call out the names as they would appear on the screen and we'd all see who we'd have to face on. She was going to begin having first place pull lots then down to fourth place. Before that...
"Um...excuse me," a hand was raised. A quiet, well a raised quiet voice, was picked up enough for Midnight to hear and turn over.
When she stopped. The whole class stopped and turned over.
Ojiro.
"I'd...like to drop out."
What. This was unexpected for sure. Why would he want to do such a thing?
"Ojiro! Why?!!"
"This is your chance to get noticed by the pros!!"
Oh well, that's right...he was on Shinsou's team. I was on that team too.
The tail boy spoke.
"The Calvary Battle...I have no memories of anything that happened up until the tail end. It's probably his Quirk that did that..."
We all turned Hitoshi. Well I didn't actually. I just assumed who they all glanced at. Ojiro...I remember now. It was quite hard to since he didn't play any part during the battle, but that's all the reason he probably wants to drop out. My smile sorta dropped at this. Since, I was friends with Hitoshi. I never really actually considered if it was right or not to let him brainwash Ojiro or even Aoyama, who quietly watched. He didn't seem to mind. Those two were nice fellows and I didn't want them to drop out over feeling useless. Yet I had to think. I did feel bad, but considering that's just how Hitoshi was using his Quirk, it wasn't my fault or wrong in the first place. With everyone staring at him, that's what made me feel bad. I didn't want them to think the purple haired male was a bad guy for just trying to show off his Quirk and get through the battle.
I mean even Izu stared suspiciously, OH COME ON!
The freckled boy looked at him and then towards me, and I was staring directly at him already so it was awkward to the max. I kinda smiled slightly and looked towards the ground wanting to avoid anything at all costs.
"I know this is a great opportunity, and I know how stupid it must seem to throw it away...but this final tournament...everyone else made it here by their own strength. Yet I'm standing here, and I don't even know how or why. I just can't take it."
Our class looked at him with sorrow. This was a rare chance for him to get recognized. He could end up making a fool out of himself, but I felt bad. The dude was a good fighter. If I can recall during the match we had with Todoroki and Shoji. I vividly remember Todoroki going flying when he used his tail to wrap around him and flung him into a wall. Dude had some balls.
A few of the students in our class tried to side with him such as Hagakure and Ashido, but he kept his head hanging low, teeth clenched, not budging the slightest.
I didn't want to butt into this because it was his decision to do so. My attempt would be just as useless as the next. Not helping either, that Kirishima was hyping him up for it and calling him manly.
