Chapter 11: No Scent

Onyx and I ran as fast as we could back to the pack house.

This started as a good day and it became better then it just turned a complete 180.

I was shocked when Zeth linked me saying Meldy went missing or rather kidnapped.

How can a day that felt so right end with something so wrong?

We were almost there, just a few feet away and I could already feel Zeth's presence. I could feel negative energy radiate from his body.

I've only ever felt him like that and that's when he lost his favorite toy when we were kids. He would be so moody.

We stopped when I could feel him infront of us.

"What happened?!" Onyx asked in a hurry.

He sounded so concerned and worried and concerned.

I'm getting a bit jealous. Just a bit.

But never mind that. Meldy's kidnapped!!!

"Meldy was kidnapped. I didn't know it would happen. She wanted to go on a run. I told her that I would go with her but she didn't want to. I insisted but she declined. I followed her then lost track. It's weird I couldn't detect her scent. Then I got news that there were unauthorized wolves outside outside our borders and they had a female." Zeth explained vie mindlink.

Did he just say he couldn't detect her scent? Could it be?

"Onyx." I said and held on to his hand. "Do you think..." I couldn't continue. It was like there was this big lump in my throat.

If what I think is right, I'm worried about Onyx and how he's feeling. His emotions might be in turmoil.

"I'm not sure. It might be them." He said.

I could feel sadness emanate from him but concern was still there.

"You have an idea who they might be?" Zeth asked.

Shock and surprise was evident in his voice.

"Follow me." He linked in a serious kinda like alpha tone.

We followed him to the direction of dad's office. He didn't bother to knock and opened the door.

"Dad, these two know something about the scentless wolves that kidnapped Meldy." Zeth linked dad and to us.

I'm pretty sure dad's eyes grew bigger or squinted smaller.

"Do they now?" He asked and I'm sure he was looking at us. "Explain." He commanded in his alpha voice.

Onyx didn't beat around the bush and he immediately told the story of his pack being invaded by other wolves. They were listening very intently I can tell.

"It's happened again." Dad said in a frustrated tone.

Again? So this happened before?

"What do you mean?" Onyx asked his voice filled with confusion.

Dad cleared his throat.

"Remember the Luna of our pack went missing back then?" He asked and I'm sure Onyx nodded cause he didn't talk.

"Well, the same thing happened to her. We were out on a run, she was way ahead of me then the strangest thing happened. Her scent vanished. I ran faster and faster trying to find her but she was gone. Then my men linked me that there were wolves outside our border who seem to be carrying a girl. They told me that they couldn't detect their scent as well." Dad said.

No way!

This means that whoever took the Luna and tortured her are the same pack of wolves who kidnapped Meldy and destroyed Onyx's pack.

I felt Onyx tense beside me. He must have thought of the same thing.

I can't imagine what they'll do to Meldy hearing what had happened to the Luna.

"No...n-no..." He said his voice cracking.

Is he going to cry? He's crying for her?

I don't know why but its like I want to rip my heart out. It's aching so much. Even my wolf is howling in pain. Why would I feel like this?

I push the thought out. My priority right now is to comfort Onyx.

"Its fine. We'll find her. If the Luna got back then so will she." I told him while caressing his arm.

He pulled me in for a tight hug.

"She's like a sister to me. She's family." He said.

Relief washed over me. Why am I like this?

I patted his back whispering soothing words in his ears.

"She's right, if we got mom back we'll get Meldy as well." Zeth linked also comforting Onyx.

I'm pretty sure Zeth has a thing for Meldy. I guess his equally worried.

"They're right. I alerted the other packs of this incident. There will be a mass alpha meeting at the congress. We will bring in experts to find a way to solve this problem." Dad said reassuring Onyx and himself.

I smiled inwardly. Its nice to feel my family's concern and support.

If they're having a meeting then what about the Luna?

"What about the Luna?" I asked.

I'm sure dad wouldn't want to leave the Luna's side now that she's here.

"Dad's not going." Zeth linked.

My head snapped to the direction of Zeth's presence. I'm pretty sure I have a confused look right about now.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

I can feel him come near me.

"Dad won't leave mom behind so iI'll be representing him in the meeting." Zeth linked. "And that's not all, I'm taking you with me."
