i cant stop thinking about the beautiful silence we shared.
how you stared so deeply into my eyes i believe you saw me.
the centimeters between our noses
and how you reached for my face so tenderly.
i wish i kissed you.
i wish i had cupped your face and let you kiss me
how i felt our energies dancing above us and i still turned my head.
i cant stop replaying it
and even after, i held ur hands close to my chest and told you there would be a next time.
i wasn't ready to kiss you,
i didn't know you were ready to kiss me,
but i want to kiss you
to feel your warmth on me
enveloped by you.
i had never felt so immediately safe in the presence of a boy
and you surprised me with how at peace i felt there with you,
sharing a blanket in the middle of nowhere
under an old tree,
inches away
hands touching
knees touching,
deep, longing stares
your eyes darting between mine and my lips
and i wish i had kissed you.
if only i had kissed you.
