Melanie stood among a large crowd of people, all gathered in front of a stage with a big movie poster as its background. People continued talking, though the stars were going to be introduced soon.
Music began playing and the people got quieter as a woman at the side of the stage in a red dress started to speak.
"Ladies and gentlemen thank you so much for joining us for the World Premiere of Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier!"
People cheered.
"We really appreciate all your support! Are you guys ready to meet the cast?" she said happily. People cheered in reply, shouting "Yeah!" and clapping. Melanie clapped along.
She welcomed on Kevin Fiege, Louis D'Esposito, then the Russo Brothers. She then began with the cast.
"She plays Peggy Carter, Hayley Atwell!"
Hayley walked onto the stage in a black dress, smiling and waving.
The woman then welcomed Callan Mulvey, Georges St. Pierre, Maximilliano Hernandez, Cobie Smulders, and Frank Grillo.
"Playing Agent 13, Emily VanCamp!" said the woman. Melanie heard many fans scream to her name from the side.
"He portrays the Winter Soldier," she said, her voice making the name sound scary. "Sebastian Stan!"
Sebastian walked on stage, smiling. He was the first one into the second row of people. Many cheered to his name, and Melanie whistled loudly. She saw him laugh a little when he heard, looking out into the crowd in front of him and spotting Melanie.
"He plays the Falcon! Anthony Mackie!"
Mackie walked out, smiling. He walked more forward than he should have, and had to take a step back, making a joke out of it.
"Here is Nick Fury -- Samuel L. Jackson!" He stepped out, smiling and waving, and stood next to Sebastian.
"She is Black Widow... Scarlett Johannson!"
Scarlett came from behind the stage wearing a black and white lacey dress with a bow. She gave a hug to Mackie, then stood beside him.
"And here is Captain America... CHRIS EVANS!"
People cheered loudly after his name. Melanie clapped as well as Chris, smiling, walked onto the middle of the stage. He shook hands with Samuel Jackson and waved to the crowd.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the cast of Marvel's Captain America, the Winter Soldier!"
People cheered as sparklers exploded in the back of them. The stars stepped off the stage to greet fans off to the side and go back onto the carpet. Melanie saw Sebastian go towards the fans by the side. She walked up towards Scarlett, who stepped into the crowd she was in.
"Hi Melanie!" she said, shaking Mel's hand with both of hers. Mel smiled.
"Hi, Scarlett. You look amazing!"
She eyed Melanie up and down. "You do too! She said. I love the dress."
"Thank you," said Melanie.
"This your first premiere?"
"It is," she said.
"Interesting?"
"Very fun," she said. "Loud."
"Oh yes, very loud. Lots of screaming fans," laughed Scarlett.
Someone in front of them started saying the two girls' names.
"Oh, they want a picture," said Scarlett. "Here, look, let's put our hands on our hips."
"Okay," laughed Melanie. The women posed for the cameras, lights flashing.
"Gotten used to the flashes yet?" asked Scarlett through a smile.
"Still a little blinding," said Melanie. "But it's getting better." She laughed a little.
"Hey, I'll see you, okay?" said Scarlett. She shook Melanie's hand again and they hugged shortly.
"See you," she said. Scarlett waved to the cameras, then walked off toward another group. Melanie began cutting through the crowd, muttering, "excuse me," every so often, until she actually bumped into someone, who just so happened to be Sebastian, along with Chris.
"Hey, Mel," said Sebastian, taking her hand.
"Hi Seb. Hi, Chris," she said. She shook his hand.
"Hey, Melanie. How are you?"
"I'm good. I like the beard, by the way." Chris touched his face. "What about you? Having fun?"
"Oh, yes. Everyone wants some of Captain America tonight," he replied.
"Who can blame them?" smiled Melanie.
"Hey!" butted in Sebastian. "I'm right here."
Chris and Melanie laughed. "Joking," she said. She gave Seb a kiss on the cheek. "Anyway, when do we actually watch the movie?"
"Soon," said Chris, checking his watch.
"We'll get to sit down, finally," she joked. "And it'll be quieter."
"Yeah," agreed Sebastian. "Won't have to talk to people for almost two hours."
Chris laughed. "You two are made for each other."
