Melanie Fissaro walked into work like it was any other day.  But this day only had one thing in common with every other day Melanie had lived — that it wasn't like the day before.

Melanie loved her job.  And her work.   She loved being a makeup artist.  And an especially good one at that — so good she was hired again and again to work on movies.

Today she was on a set she had been waiting to work on since she was hired.

She walked into one of the trailers with her makeup case.  She was mainly assigned to Sebastian on days he was working.  Other days, she helped with side characters' makeup, and anything else if it was needed.

She opened the door to the makeup and hair trailer.  Many of the stars were already there, as well as multiple hair and makeup artists, who looked as if they had just gotten started.  Sebastian was in the chair at the end in full costume, and on his phone, waiting.

Though she had been working on the set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier for a couple of weeks now, she was still especially excited for today.

"Morning, Sebastian," she said, bringing in her personal makeup bag and putting it on the desk Sebastian was sitting at.

He put his phone on the desk and looked up at her. "Hi, Melanie."

"Say, what are we shooting today?" she smirked at him, knowing this was the day she had been waiting for — and the one Sebastian had been almost dreading.

"I think you know what we're shooting today," he said, half rolling his eyes.

"But I just want you to remind me.  Just to make sure."

"Uh-huh."

"Come on, tell me."

"We're shooting the apartment chase scene."

"And again — what makeup are you wearing for that?"

Sebastian was smiling at her.

"Lots of black eye makeup."

Melanie grinned wide.

"Oh, I am so glad I get to do this one," she said.

"Oh, just get on with it."

Melanie chuckled a bit before Sebastian finally turned around and picked up his phone again.

It took her about half an hour to put on extensions on Sebastian's already grown-out hair, and style it for the scene.  She did use the help of a second stylist, but for makeup, she wouldn't need one.

"Okay, Winter, it's makeup time."

Melanie had got into the habit of calling him Winter after she had started hair and makeup.

"Lovely," he said, almost sarcastically.

Melanie smiled and he turned his chair around.  She looked over to another makeup artist, Macy, who was doing Emily VanCamp's makeup.

"Hey, Macy, would you mind passing me the black eyeshadow?"

"What do you need — oh.  Today's that day, isn't it?"

Melanie nodded.

"Here," said Macy, taking a curling iron out of Emily's hair, and handing Melanie the eyeshadow.

After another thirty, this time of smudging, brushing on eyeshadow, and lining the eyes, Melanie turned Sebastian around so he could look in the mirror.

"Okay, Winter, you're ready for set," she said, smiling at him in the mirror.

"Great," he said, smiling back at her.  "You're staying for touchups?"

"Like always," she said.

"Then I'll see you there," he replied.

Sebastian had been the last actor in the makeup trailer for the time being.  She watched out the window as Chris Evans smiled when he saw Sebastian, who continued walking as costumes gave him the mask he was going to wear.

Melanie began packing touch-up things she would need for set.  Every reset she would have to re-do the makeup exactly — she had taken pictures of the finished product earlier.

Melanie hadn't worked on any Marvel movies before this — but she had done some of the actors' and actresses' makeup for red carpets.

She loved her job.  So much.  She especially loved meeting actors and actresses, and becoming friends with them and telling people she's a makeup artist for movies, and sounding all professional when she told people she wasn't allowed to disclose what movies she was working on.  Everything about the job she loved.  She waited every night to go to work every morning, even if she had to wake up super early.

But maybe what she loved most about working on this set didn't really have anything to do with the job.
