Linwë Elensar sat with her pets: Arminas -- a wolf -- and Amrod -- a horse. She was so excited. She was pregnant with Legolas' child. Elrond -- her father -- had confirmed that it was a boy. She was in the stables grooming Amrod with Arminas lying in the hay, basking in the sunlight. After a while, Linwë could hear Legolas calling for her. He came into the stables.
"Good morning, Lin'!" he said, beginning to help her comb out Amrod's tail. "What's going on with you this fine morning?"
"Nothing much," Linwë answered, an idea popping into her head. "I only just found out that I'm pregnant with your son."
"That's nice," Legolas said, fooled by her nonchalant tone. Then he stopped and the brush fell out of his hand. "Wait. Pregnant? You're pregnant?"
"Yes!" his wife confirmed laughing.
Legolas shouted for joy and picked Linwë up in his arms. He carried her around and told anyone he could. That night they lay in bed together just holding each other.
"Linwë?"
"Yes, Legolas?"
"I love you."
"I love you, too."
"Can we name him Oropher?"
Linwë smiled, "Of course."
