Thranduil picked his son, Prince Legolas, up in his arms and carried the elfling with him out onto the balcony. Today he would give a speech to his people about the anniversary of Greenwood the Great. As he stood there, he felt a tug at his hair. It's nothing he wasn't used to, Legolas often played with his father's hair. But when Thranduil looked over, he saw that Legolas was chewing on his father's hair.

"That's Ada's hair, Legolas..." Thranduil prompted, hoping Legolas would know to stop chewing. But to no avail.

Thranduil sighed. If he pulled hair away, Legolas would either grab it back or start crying. And he couldn't risk the latter. So he let Legolas keep chewing.

This was going to be a long speech.
