I sit in the comfort of a soft chair, next to a large window, with a book in my hands.
I read the words that cling to my mind, over and over again.
"Venus, the planet of love was destroyed.
Did the planet have too much love that all of a sudden the planet caught on fire and turned into dust that now floats in the universe?"
"Now love is nowhere to be found, the whole universe awaits the feeling of love."
I've never felt the feeling of love.
I've never been in a relationship.
I've never had my first kiss.
I've never been on a date.
Am I just like the universe, awaiting love?
Did the universe crave the feeling of love just like me?
Will Venus ever be rebuilt?
If so, will Venus be the same?
I come back to reality whenever someone takes a seat next to me.
I look up from the book and see my best friend, Seungkwan.
"You're reading, Venuses Unforgettable Love, again?" Seungkwan says once he sees the familiar colored book in my hands
"I am." I sightly smile while closing the book and putting it in my lap
"That's not a shocker." He quietly laughs
I lightly laugh because he was right.
"You seem down, are you ok?" Seungkwan asks with a hint of worry in his sweet voice
"I'm just thinking" I shake my head
"Thinking about what?"
I sigh "Don't laugh but I was wondering when will love come to me. I'm just like the universe, awaiting love."
"I'm sure someone loves you." Seungkwan simply says
"How can you tell if someone loves you?"
"I'll put it short but if they spend a lot of time with you. Makes sure you're happy. Makes you feel better if you're down. Checks up on you often. Makes you feel important. Knows everything and anything about you. And listens to you about everything and anything."
"You seem to know a lot about love" I sightly smile "Are you in love with someone?" I add
Seungkwan sits in silence for a few seconds but then speaks up.
"I am."
That shocked me, because I knew he liked someone but he never told me who it was.
I never pushed him for the answer out of basic respect.
"What do you love about them?" I ask
"I love how they're so energetic. I love how they always take risk. I love how they're so honest, even if they're a little too honest. I love the sound of their laugh. I love their smile. I love their eyes. I simply love everything about them."
"How long have you loved this person?"
Seungkwan slightly laughs but continues
"It's been five years now."
"How do I know if I love someone?"
"Well, if they make you feel safe and comfortable. If they make your heart flutter. If you think about them often. If something so simple reminds you of them. And if you want to be with them all the time."
I begin to think about his words.
Everything he has said.
I do feel safe with someone.
I do feel comfortable with that someone.
That someone makes my heart flutter.
I love to spend all my time with his person.
And if I'm not with that person I often tend to think about them.
It clicks when I realize who this person is.
It's Seungkwan, my best friend of five years.
"Seungkwan, I love you." I quietly say
"I've been waiting for you to say that for the past five years." Seungkwan smiles brightly
"I'm sorry I took to long to realize." I frown
"I'm just glad you realized it now. Now I can tell you I love you everyday, at any given time." Seungkwan says while pulling me into a tight embrace
I laugh at his sudden move.
"You still haven't told me directly that you love me." I laugh in the hug
Seungkwan pulls his upper body away from the hug and looks me directly in the eyes before he starts.
"I love you. I've always loved you. And I will continue to love you until the end of time."
I laugh because of how happy he makes me.
We lean in to a kiss.
Our lips move together in sync.
We pull away from the kiss.
"Venus is rebuilt. We rebuilt it, with our love." Seungkwan smiles brightly
I smile brightly.
I almost tear up because of his words.
He really does pay attention to what I love.
He's read the book over and over again with me.
He listened to me talk about Venus and the Universe.
Will Venus ever be rebuilt because love rebuilt it and if the Universe is waiting for Venus to be rebuilt are the two common questions I asked.
"Therefore, the Universe doesn't need to worry about Venus sad ending anymore. It can now focus on the new rebuilt Venus." I reply
