"We're going to start off by writing a mini essay. I want to see your writing skills. So do your best for 15 minutes." The professor says to all of us students

We sit in silence as we write for 15 minutes.

"Ok now, everyone send it to my email so we can review them as a class." The professor says after the 15 minutes are up

We follow the instructions and after a few minutes it's finally my turn.

The professor gives the students a few minutes to read my essay since it's displayed on the projector in front of the class.

"Now class what do you rate the essay?" The professor asks which makes my stomach turn. I'm nervous for the responses even though I know my essay is decent at the very least.

"5." And a few good comments are heard from my classmates

The nervousness fades a little once I hear their positive comments but it doesn't completely go away.

"I have to say this is a good paper. You have good writing skills Mrs. L/n." The profesor says to me which I thank him and that's when my nervousness completely fades.

"Ok next, is L/n Ari." The professor announces once he displays Aris essay.

I'm half way done reading Aris essay before the professor interrupts.

"This essay, needs a lot of work. Good way to make an entrance and still fail to impress me with your work." The professor says coldly to Ari

Those words completely shock me even though it's not directed to me. I quickly look to Ari and see her tearing up.

"Ari." I quietly say as I reach my hand out to her but she quickly pulls her self away. She's quick to get up from seat.

"Ari." I repeat in my normal toned voice

Ari ignores me and hurries out of the classroom.

"Let's continue." The professor says once Ari walks out the door

I sigh and continue with the class participation.

-After Class-
I gather my book and laptop as the bell rings but I stop once the professor calls out to me.
"Mrs. L/n do you have a minute?"

I nod, put my things in my tote bag and walk towards him.

"That Ari girl is your friend?" The professor cuts straight to the point

"Yeah." I reply shortly

"You should hang out with someone who has it together. She seems to be very-" the professor says but I quickly cut him off

"We've been best friends since elementary. And she does have it together, for a matter of fact she has her life together more than me. She just messed up this once so cut her a break." I calmly say

The professor nods "Very well then you can leave."

Without a second passing I walk out of the classroom.

I take my phone out of my pocket and dial Aris phone. After 3 rings the phone is picked up.

"Ari, are you ok? I'm sorry-" I quickly say into the phone

"It's me." Minghaos voice is heard on the line

"Can I talk to Ari?" I ask as I walk outside

"She doesn't want to talk. I have to go now, bye." Minghao coldly says

"Wait-" I say but the phone call ends

I sigh and continue my way to my next period.

-2 Class Periods Later-
I walk to the train station alone since Minghao and Ari are already home or so I think. They never texted or told me anything.

-At Home-
After laying in my bed for a few hours I decide to call Minghao.

After 3 rings he answers but stays silent on the line.

"Minghao?" I ask since he didn't say anything

"Yeah" Minghao simply replies

"How's Ari?" I ask as I fiddle with my blanket

"Good, she finally just went to sleep."

"Are you still with her?" I ask confused

Minghao just hums in response.

"It's already 11 though." I drag

"And?" Minghao coldly says

"What are you still doing with her this late?"

"Comforting her just like you should have." Minghao says with an annoyed tone

I stay silent for a second once I hear the annoyance in his voice.

"Do you still love her?" I quietly ask, too scared to hear his answer

Minghao stays quiet on the line.

"Minghao?" I say with a worried tone

"I don't love her anymore." Minghao breaths out

"I don't believe you." I say with a shaky voice

"I have to go now, I don't want to wake Ari up." Minghao says to which I just quickly hang up the phone call

I throw my phone on the bed and cover my eyes.

"Does he still love her?" I keep repeating in my head before falling asleep.
