Two weeks later,
Elaine called Kendra,
"Hey mama, whats up?" She said
"Sweetie I need you to come home." Elaine said through tears
"Mom whats wrong?" She said
"Your dad honey he passed away in his sleep." Elaine said
"No..mom please tell me you are lying." She said
"I'm not. The doctors said that they think he had a stroke due to a blood clot." Elaine said
"I'll be home as soon as I can." She said
Kendra packed a bag and told the girls where she would be if anyone came looking for her. She made her way back to Knoxville. She helped her mom plan a funeral.
As she sat in the front row, someone sat beside her and grabbed her hand.
"Colt." She said when she looked up.
"Hey you.." he said as he wiped her tears.
She hugged him, "Its good to see you." She said
"Where is Mr Wonderful?" He said
"He is deployed." She said
After the service, she told Colton everything that has been going on.
"I told you.." he said
"Colt don't people make mistakes." She said
He kissed her cheek, "You can always come to Nashville Kendra." He said as he got in his car and left.
