Two days later,

Bucky pulled into Elaine's driveway, she was pulling weeds in her rose bushes.

"Need any help?" Bucky said

Elaine looked up behind her, "Its good to see you made it home in one piece." She said

He forced a smile. "Its good to see you too, I was wondering if we could talk? Maybe you won't throw things at me, smack me or yell at me." He said

He helped her stand up, "If Roy was here he would be the one doing that." Elaine said as she dusted herself off.

Bucky followed her inside, "I'm sorry about Roy. Mom told me he passed." He said as they went into the kitchen.

Elaine washed her hands, and pulled a peanut butter pie out of the fridge.

"You made my favorite?" He said as she poured them some sweet tea.

She sat down, "I had a feeling you would stop by." She said as she gave him a piece.

"She told you about the papers?" He said

"Yeah. She calls me every other day." She said

"I know I have let everyone down, and Im sorry." He said

"Honey, I know how you were when you came home. Your mama told me last night at church. But Kendra wouldn't have cared. She would have been happy just sitting with you." She said

Bucky looked down.

"She needed her husband.." Elaine said

"I know, but we are different people now." He said

"James, Im not talking about now. Im talking about when she lost Camden, Roy she lost herself. I was losing my daughter, she locked herself in her room when she dropped out of college. It was me that pushed her to pursue music cause I was willing to do anything to get her out of the house. She needed you a year ago when she had a cancer scare." Elaine said

Bucky began to eat a second slice.

"Im glad you are home in one piece, but I am disappointed in you James. And I know Roy is too. You let us all down." Elaine said

Bucky finished off his tea, "Im sorry." He said

"Take the rest home." She said as she put aluminum foil on the pie.

"Thanks Elaine." He said and he left.
